Repository: emacs-apps/disco.el.
disco.el is an Emacs Discord client. It uses a telega-style root
and room flow, an ement-style split between API, state, and buffers,
and Appkit for views, composers, and media.
Set a token, then open the root:
export DISCO_TOKEN=...(require 'disco)
;; or override in-session:
;; M-x disco-set-tokenM-x disco opens *disco*. RET opens a guild directory or room.
Requires Emacs 31.1, plz, websocket, and Appkit 0.3.0.
Discord Markdown parsing requires both native Tree-sitter grammars used by
Appkit: markdown and markdown-inline. Installation is explicit and pinned
to the GNU Emacs-tested grammar revision:
(appkit-markup-markdown-ts-install-grammars)Parsing and account startup never download, compile, or activate
markdown-ts-mode.
The provider-aware discord-markdown codec preserves Discord spoilers,
underline, multiline quotes, suppressed links, mentions, timestamps, navigation
tokens, and code-zone literals in both incoming rendering and outgoing
composition. Attachments, including spoiler state, remain structured side
channels.
Keys, threads, attachments, and options are in the user guide. Layouts, file map, and design notes are in docs/develop.org.
