The titlebar no longer changes color between tabs, and the window chrome is now blue-tinted glass.

  • Root cause: with an opaque titlebar, AppKit derived its color from whichever page sat at the top edge. Each page fed it something different.
  • The window now uses a transparent titlebar with one behind-window glass surface painted by the root view. No page paints the titlebar strip.
  • Scrollable pages scroll under a tinted material strip sized from the safe-area inset, like a native toolbar.

Important files:

Sources/Inlay/InlayApp.swift

  • Titlebar is transparent with no system separator; SwiftUI owns the bar.

Sources/Inlay/Views/InlayTheme.swift

  • Adds InlayWindowGlassSurface (behind-window material + blue glassTint + sheen) and InlayTitlebarGlassStrip (material + tint + hairline).
  • Sidebar surface is now a deeper blue tint over the same window glass. Reduce-transparency/high-contrast keep solid fallbacks.

Sources/Inlay/Views/InlayWindowView.swift

  • Window glass as root background, glass strip as detail overlay, page scaffold no longer paints into the titlebar.

Verified in Inlay Dev: all five tabs screenshot with an identical titlebar color; scrolled content stays legible under the strip. bun run fmt:check, bun run check, and bun run lint pass; dev app builds clean.

RetriggerView in GreptileConfidence Score: 5/5

No blocking issues were identified; native macOS appearance and build behavior have not been independently verified.

Summary

The PR gives the window a shared blue glass background and a transparent titlebar.

  • Inlay keeps one blue glass titlebar across all five pages.

📝 Walkthrough

The window now uses a transparent, separator-free title bar. Shared glass surfaces provide window, sidebar, and titlebar backgrounds, with opaque canvas fallbacks for accessibility settings.

Changes: Window Glass Surface

Layer / File(s) Summary
Shared glass surfaces
Sources/Inlay/Views/InlayTheme.swift
Adds shared window and titlebar glass surfaces with tint and gradients. The sidebar uses tinted opacity over the shared material. Accessibility settings use opaque canvas or sidebar colors.
Window glass composition
Sources/Inlay/InlayApp.swift, Sources/Inlay/Views/InlayWindowView.swift
The app configures a transparent title bar without a separator. The window view extends the sidebar background across safe areas, positions the titlebar strip using the top safe-area inset, and applies the window glass surface. The page canvas no longer extends into the safe area.

The titlebar may show an inconsistent tint over the detail pane. This is a bounded visual issue to fix or explicitly accept before merging.
