Use more basic terminology, geared to a wider audience

How could the content be improved?

I'm going through episode 10 and I found the term "phenology plots". I had no idea what "phenology" was until I Googled it. But it makes me think if the lesson overall could benefit from using more basic terminology, so a wider audience (for example, social sciences) can benefit from the lesson.

+1 on this idea. We have a lot of instructors here teach this lesson who are familiar with R (and this lesson) but not as familiar with geospatial data. It would help them to have more context with the "why" and "what does this term" mean if there was a bit more explanation in the lesson
