I’m running a Vite dev server with a trusted certificate, and I’ve confirmed that the app loads correctly from:
https://{local_ip}:3100
This works in Safari on the iOS device and locally in Chrome on the dev machine.
However, when I scan the QR code in the WebNative app, it always attempts to load:
http://{local_ip}:3100
The documentation mentions HTTPS support for Angular projects (https://webnative.dev/integrations/angular/#use-https), so I assume there is an internal toggle or configuration path for HTTPS, but I haven’t found anything equivalent for non‑Angular setups.
My OAuth library requires PKCE, which depends on Crypto.subtle and the Web Crypto API. These APIs require a secure context, and the WebNative app is secure, but my app is not when it’s being loaded over HTTP. This breaks PKCE and prevents authentication from working.
What I’ve Tried
Manually generating a QR code pointing to
https://webnative.app/https%3A%2F%2F192.168.1.148%3A3100
Guessing at VS Code settings such as:
"webnative.useHttps": true
Verifying that the HTTPS server and certificate work correctly on iPhone and desktop
