The Satisfactory script is ready for testing: bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://github.com/community-scripts/ProxmoxVED/raw/main/ct/satisfactory.sh)"
Open or forward ports 7777 TCP/UDP and 8888 TCP. External and internal port 7777 must match.
The server is managed and claimed from the in-game Server Manager.
Updates stop and restart the game server; schedule them when no players are connected.
Note: This is not in the official repo yet—it's just a dev version! After merging into ProxmoxVE, it will need to be recreated.
patched the HelperScripts version locally.
Changed install/satisfactory-install.sh (line 16) to install ca-certificates and curl explicitly, then retry the SteamCMD app_update 1690800 validate step up to 5 times with a 15s delay. I also added the same retry behavior to the update path in ct/satisfactory.sh (line 40).
Why: the reported failure is coming from SteamCMD’s internal download step, and it bubbles up as curl exit code 8. That can be a transient Steam CDN/server reply problem, but missing baseline TLS/download packages in a minimal container are also worth eliminating.
Validation passed:
bash -n ct/satisfactory.sh
bash -n install/satisfactory-install.sh
git diff --check
curl and ca-certificates are alwaysa available. only the change from +app_update 1690800 validate \ to +app_update 1690800 -beta public validate \ solved it
Installation : ok
Server does not start automatically and FactoryServer.sh can't be launched by root account. I created a user called steam and launched FactoryServer.sh with it successfully.
Installation : ok Server does not start automatically and FactoryServer.sh can't be launched by root account. I created a user called steam and launched FactoryServer.sh with it successfully.
Installation : was great no issues there but the game is saying server appears to be offline. Should it start automatically? Guessing from @an1ketos comment it don't start automatically. @n8flx have you had time to add the extra user? I have only just installed the LXC so happy to wipe or update to test again once the extra user or fix has been added
@n8flx I have used your own repo and success! I did leave the root password blank and it failed to download an app from steam.
Connecting anonymously to Steam Public...OK
Waiting for client config...OK
Waiting for user info...OK
ERROR! Failed to install app '1690800' (Missing configuration)
Unloading Steam API...OK
So I deleted the LXC and downloaded it again and this time I set a root password and it installed perfectly I was able to connect to the server.
I was able to run the script using default setup. No issues at all. Hosted a new save for me and a friend without issues. Thank you for this. Let me know if I can provide any additional information or tests.

@Winchy1995 i updated the script but its not merged to Production yet. You can use my own repo here: https://github.com/n8flx/proxmox-satisfactory its already includes the changes with server autostart and user.
