How-to: add a contract function and expose it in the app #635
Branch: Open your PR against dev. PRs targeting main are closed automatically.
Description:
Write contracts/docs/howto-add-contract-function.md: the full path from a new #[contractimpl] function to a working UI action — Rust implementation, tests, snapshot updates, rebuild and redeploy, frontend invocation through apps/web/src/lib/soroban.ts and Freighter, and backend sync if the function emits an event the Stellar listener should record.
Acceptance criteria:
A worked example of a small read-only function and a small state-changing one
Documents regenerating test_snapshots/ and the CI checks that will fail if it is forgotten
Documents the frontend side: building, simulating, signing and submitting the call

Hello Maintainer, I'd like to take this issue. I'll begin immediately and work toward delivering a clean, production-ready PR within an hour or two if assigned now.

Hi maintainers — I checked the current dev branch before applying. The requested contracts/docs/howto-add-contract-function.md is absent; the existing deployment guide covers today’s build/deploy/invoke flow, and apps/web/src/lib/soroban.ts shows the current Freighter simulate–sign–submit–poll path, but there is no contributor walkthrough for carrying a new #[contractimpl] function through the whole stack. After assignment, I’ll write that focused guide with one small read-only and one state-changing worked example, covering Rust implementation and tests, snapshot regeneration and the CI checks that enforce it, rebuild/redeploy, frontend construction, simulation, Freighter signing and submission, and when emitted events require apps/backend/src/services/stellarListener.ts changes. I’ll cross-link #331 and the existing contract-events reference, verify every path and command against dev, and target the PR to dev as required. I’ll wait for assignment before editing.
