Unusually High CTR on Rewarded Rich Media Ads (Capacitor + AdMob)

Hi! I’m using @capacitor-community/admob@7.0.3 with rewarded ads in a Capacitor (Vue) app.

Rewarded video ads behave normally (CTR around 1%), but rewarded rich media / playable / interactive endcard ads show very high CTR (30–40%+).
This happens on multiple devices and Android versions, both with AdMob-only serving and with mediated networks like InMobi.

Has anyone else seen unusually high CTR specifically on rewarded rich media ads using this plugin?

Apologies for the very delayed response, and thank you for reporting this.

Rewarded-ad rendering and click handling are performed by the Google Mobile Ads SDK and the relevant mediation adapter; this plugin does not implement the clickable rich-media surface or calculate CTR. The reported difference may therefore be related to the creative, traffic quality, or the underlying SDK rather than the Capacitor bridge.

To determine whether there is a plugin-specific problem, could you provide:

• The Google Mobile Ads SDK and mediation-adapter versions used at the time.
• Whether the same behavior still occurs with the latest plugin release.
• A comparison using the same ad unit and configuration in a minimal native Android app.
• A breakdown by ad source, country, device, and app version, with any sensitive identifiers removed.
• Whether the elevated CTR remains after AdMob finalizes and adjusts the reporting period.
