Customers do have Constance: Config access on their own instances when their staff hold the Administrative Developer (AD) role; previous draft incorrectly stated superuser-only. Per Bex Portela and Reba Magier: AD-role staff get the Constance section; a small subset of settings remains root-restricted to Canvas Medical engineering. New _documentation/constance-config.md covers where the section lives, who can access it (AD role), how an instance admin grants the role, the root-restricted carve-out, and the four common reasons a setting may not appear. The 2025-04-07 canvas-chat release note now links to it.
