Adds a caller for the shared review workflow in bugsee/.github (.github/workflows/claude-review.yml), and removes the per-repo claude.yml @claude mention handler where there was one.

Notes:

  • The review is skipped on this PR itself: the action only runs a workflow file that is identical on the default branch. It starts working on PRs opened after this one is merged.
  • Private repos need a repo-level CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN secret, because the org secret is not shared with private repos on the Free plan.
  • Add the deep-review label to a PR to get the review from Opus instead of Sonnet.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Pull requests now receive an automated review when opened, updated, reopened, marked ready for review, or labeled.
  • Changes
    • Claude is no longer triggered by mentions in issue comments, pull request review comments, or submitted reviews.

The changes remove the workflow that ran Claude Code in response to @claude mentions and add a pull-request review workflow. The new workflow runs for specified pull-request events and calls a reusable workflow with configured permissions and the CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN secret.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 75df3

The shared review workflow can change without an update to this repository. This is mergeable with awareness of who controls that workflow; pin it if each revision must be approved here.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 75df3

The shared workflow receives a review credential and permission to update pull requests and issues. Future changes to that workflow can affect this repository without a local workflow edit. Repository-content access remains read-only, and exploiting the mutable dependency requires control of the shared workflow rather than merely submitting a pull request. Its downstream credential handling remains unverified.

Retained concerns

  • Low · security · inferred: The new caller delegates its review credential and permitted repository operations to a shared workflow at mutable @main. A malicious or compromised change to that workflow could affect subsequent credential-bearing runs without a consumer-repository change. This requires control of the shared workflow; an ordinary PR author's ability to exploit it is not established. Mutable action dependencies already existed, but this shared-workflow dependency is new.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The caller permits repository-scoped pull-request and issue mutation, but not repository-content writes through its workflow token. The passed OAuth credential could have a different scope, which is not established here. ID-token issuance permission alone does not establish access to an external identity provider or cloud environment.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — The supported attack path requires unauthorized control of the referenced shared workflow, followed by a run in which the credential and token capabilities are available. Such a change could redirect credential handling or permitted repository operations. The two retained findings identify this mutable delegation point; they do not prove that PR-controlled content reaches a privileged execution sink.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • inferred — The new boundary trusts the shared repository's workflow maintainers and update controls. The fixed same-organization workflow path is not selected by a PR input, and the caller's explicit permissions constrain delegated workflow-token authority. These controls do not establish immutable execution or safe downstream handling of PR content.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — The caller allows repeated event-driven initiation and defines no concurrency or deduplication control. Unlike the deleted job, it has no local timeout. Whether concurrent, failed, or cancelled runs leave duplicate or partial review state depends on the unavailable callee; no lifecycle failure is established.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Pin the shared workflow to a reviewed immutable revision and update it through an explicit dependency-review process. This would make changes to delegated credential handling reviewable and provide a reproducible rollback target.

Pin the shared workflow when this caller requires immutable workflow revisions. bugsee/.github/.github/workflows/claude-review.yml@main is a same-organization reusable workflow. The caller passes CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN and grants write permissions to it. A change to the shared workflow can therefore change code that runs with those credentials. Replace @main with a reviewed full commit SHA when this trust boundary requires immutable references. Keep nested action pins in bugsee/.github.
