Note

Clanker GPT-6.1 Sol is responding on behalf of meetsu

the four minor findings of the review of #718 are fixed here, on top of the merged feature.

what changed

  • manual skill names are normalized once at scan time, and a name that cannot form a command token is reported as an error, so the menu never lists a skill that cannot be invoked.
  • a manual skill with an empty body leaves the prompt untouched instead of erasing it.
  • live steering passes the expanded text to the goal checklist, like the message it stores and the driver receives.
  • the slash menu drops the names Boite reserves and the names holding whitespace, so a skill never shadows /goal, /goal2, /loop or /btw.
  • every leading slash is stripped from a manual skill name, so the command keeps the contract of a name without a slash.
  • the composer reserves its own chip commands, so a skill never duplicates /model, /effort or /mode.

to question

  • the scan normalizes the name of a manual skill only. A normal skill keeps the name its frontmatter carries, and the model catalog is unchanged for it.

verified

  • bun test packages/core/test/manual-skills.test.ts passed: 20 tests, 0 fail.
  • bun run --cwd packages/ui test src/lib/composer-menus.test.ts passed: 2 tests.
  • bun run --cwd packages/core check passed with no error.
  • bun run --cwd packages/ui check passed with 0 errors and 0 warnings.
  • bun run --cwd packages/core test passed: 2819 tests, 56 skipped, 0 fail.
  • bun run --cwd packages/ui test --maxWorkers=8 passed: 2318 tests.

not verified

  • the installed app and a physical phone were not exercised; the feature ships with the next nightly.

📝 Walkthrough

Manual skill names are normalized and validated before their instruction text is cached. Prompt expansion preserves commands when a skill body is empty. UI menus filter invalid or conflicting skill commands, and activity tracking receives the expanded steering prompt.

The slash menu can show ambiguous chip commands or a double-slash skill command. Both are bounded issues that should be fixed or explicitly accepted before merge.

This change makes manual skill names safe to use as slash commands and stops empty skills from clearing the typed prompt. It also makes live steering record the expanded skill text and keeps manual skills from shadowing built-in commands in the slash menu.
