Customisable payments widget for websites

Something like the old PoundPay iframe would be awesome.

Maybe we could leverage the jquery.payment library or even borrow Stripe's checkout library and make it generic enough to work with any provider?

Failing that we have the original PoundPay iframe source available to draw on which does all the same things but needs to be cleaned up and converted from Python to JavaScript.

@dmdj03 did we ever do mocks for something like this?

+1 This would be helpful. We have payment forms in multiple apps, and almost had to consider using Stripe's checkout rather than implementing yet another.

I'd be happy to contribute back whatever I come up with. To be honest, though, I had in mind more of a checkout-like overlay dialog than an iframe.

@joeyAghion it shouldn't be too difficult to convert the iframe to an overlay. I can see how difficult it's going 2 be.

Even the stripe checkout overlay is implemented as an iframe. It's not hard to make an overlay that has the iframe internally.

This looks promising, but--just to be clear--I won't get a chance to work on this soon. (As you recall, my original motivation was to get something that could be dropped in and work quickly.)

If anyone at Balanced has a minute to spend on this, it would be helpful to get a README or build instructions added to that iframe tarball.
