Mirror currently replaces a destination file even when another device has made it newer, while Update cannot remove destination-only files. Add an explicit One-way Update option to Mirror so newer destination contents are preserved while deletion follows the foreground or background sync contract, as requested in Requested 100 and the original request by @EhudKirsh.
GUI plans preserve newer destinations in either direction, compare unknown-date files by size and leave size differences for review, retain destructive confirmation and carry the option through saved presets, templates and script exports. The copied CLI command uses the existing --update --delete flags and the comparison window. Update script exports reuse the active comparison's timestamp-safety decision and effective window; unsafe, stale or unavailable comparisons are refused before file creation. Exporters retain saved Mirror defaults when no live override is set, and script import rejects attached values such as --update=false.
AeroCloud uses separate transfer receipts, rather than general comparison history, for background deletion authority. Only a real stabilized transfer creates a receipt, bound to the exact counterpart, destination side, local root and resolved connection endpoint/account/namespace/overlay. Legacy v2 history, Skip, Identical and mirrored pairs grant no authority. With additive backup off, an unchanged destination-only file can be removed only with its matching receipt; never-transferred, changed and unverifiable files remain intact and are named/countable for review in preview, execution, dashboard and CLI JSON, including later cycles and watcher events. A lost phone's sole cloud photo is therefore preserved on a PC that never transferred it. Foreground AeroSync GUI and CLI retain their stateless Mirror Update deletion confirmation/cap rules.
Cloud previews, full scans, supported native bulk and watcher execution share the same policy. Update inspects changed rows and receipt-authorized deletion candidates through STAT before final classification so S3 source-mtime metadata and provider timestamp precision match fresh execution guards. Empty/incomplete scans and non-authoritative listings block deletes; at least 10 authorized deletions exceeding half the destination files trigger a visible refusal without advancing history. Source and destination are rechecked before deletion; attempted failed/uncertain overwrites revoke old proof, and edited uploads remain unsettled conflicts. Size/mtime receipts follow metadata sync semantics: same-size/same-time rewrites and the final observation/write race on providers without conditional writes remain explicitly documented limits, not byte attestation.
Transient account lookup failures retain existing proof without minting new receipts. Partial failures preserve receipts for stable successful transfers. Yandex uses its authenticated uid/login. Root identities use native volume/directory IDs where available; unsupported filesystems keep a documented mount-bound fallback whose deletion authority may be unavailable after remount. Existing configurations and ordinary Mirror retain their defaults. The option and explanations are translated into all 47 languages; the CLI guide documents the behavior and safety gates.
Validation on integrated head 18f66e2 (main 3db2b98 / #1449): 263 focused frontend tests across 14 files, including the previously failing noPhantomKeys suite; 208 Rust tests passed with 3 live tests ignored across the affected providers, path-resolution guards and Update regressions; TypeScript, formatting and diff checks pass. The missing aerosync.rescanNeeded export message now ships in all 47 locale files (6,504 keys), using the delegated batch workflow with clean canaries and all i18n gates green. The three merge conflicts only joined independent test additions; both account-identity and whitespace-path regressions are retained. The regenerated inventory still matches all 794 shipped Tauri commands. All eight applicable GitHub Actions workflows finished successfully on this head, with every applicable platform matrix job and status context verified; only conditional release/non-PR jobs were skipped. Squash commit 214c3f0 was verified on origin/main after evaluating the fresh base integration. No additional CodeRabbit review requested under the owner's explicit order.
Scheduler scope: the Scheduler currently exposed in AeroSync controls the AeroCloud worker; it is not a scheduled foreground AeroSync job. A dedicated job/executor belongs to Requested101 and is outside this PR. The new receipt/changed-destination guards run only in CloudService; foreground GUI and CLI keep stateless Mirror Update deletion semantics.
The generic native-bulk safety path is covered by fixtures; S3 and Swift currently do not advertise native bulk in their production providers.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added Update Only for one-way AeroSync and AeroCloud syncs. AeroSync copies missing or changed source files, preserves newer destination files, and leaves files with incomparable dates for review.
AeroSync Mirror can delete destination-only files. AeroCloud deletes only unchanged destination-only files with verified transfer history; other files are retained for review.
Added review notices for retained files and alerts when deletion safety checks block removals.
Script exports include Update settings when applicable and are blocked when comparisons are outdated or cannot safely preserve newer destination files.
Documentation
Added CLI examples for one-way updates, dry-run previews, and deletion limits, and clarified how scheduled and foreground syncs handle deletions.
Add an explicit one-way Update option that retains newer destination files while deleting destination-only entries. Apply the same timestamp and deletion authority to AeroCloud previews, full scans, bulk transfers and watcher events, and preserve the option across saved profiles, templates and executable scripts.
Cover both directions, unknown timestamps, first-run orphans, incomplete scans, incremental bulk transfers and rename protection. Translate the controls into all 47 languages and document CLI --update --delete usage.

Refuse at least ten deletes exceeding half the destination files on every full Update cycle, including runs without a baseline. Report refusals in preview and execution and retain the last clean baseline. Default deletion authority to false, reject missing watcher roots before remote mutations, and recheck the source before Update remote deletes.
Cover both directions and repeated first-cycle refusals, watcher root renames with and without history, and empty local sources. Regenerate the former-English ledger and document the safety limit.

This change adds one-way Update mode to mirror plans and cloud sync. It preserves newer destination files, carries the setting through configuration and scripts, and limits destination-only deletion using transfer receipts, scan completeness, source checks, and deletion thresholds.

Persist Update settings and transfer receipts src-tauri/src/cloud_config.rs, src-tauri/src/cloud_pairs.rs, src-tauri/src/sync.rs, src/types.ts, src-tauri/src/cloud_provider_factory.rs, src-tauri/src/providers/*
Cloud and sync profiles add a default-disabled update_only setting. Sync indices store transfer receipts and remote observations. Provider connections return target identity and overlay-binding data used by cloud sync.
Apply Update policy and deletion safeguards src-tauri/src/cloud_service.rs, src-tauri/src/cloud_service/{bulk.rs,incremental.rs,root_identity.rs,bulk_tests.rs,incremental_tests.rs}
A shared policy drives cloud action selection, preview, execution, and baseline generation. Incomplete scans and empty or unavailable sources prevent orphan deletion. A count-based gate refuses large deletion sets. Bulk and incremental paths recheck file and root state and record receipts for confirmed transfers.
The mirror planner skips destination-newer files and leaves comparisons with unsuitable timestamps unresolved. The plan UI stores Update mode and resets destructive confirmation when it changes. CLI command generation carries --update and comparison timestamp tolerance.
Cloud settings expose Update mode for eligible one-way configurations. The dashboard aggregates review entries and errors by scope and displays retained destination files.
Carry Update through scripts and guidance src-tauri/src/lib.rs, src-tauri/src/sync_script.rs, src-tauri/src/bin/aeroftp_cli.rs, src/components/Sync/SyncTemplateDialog.tsx, src/utils/syncTemplateApply.ts, docs/CLI-GUIDE.md, src/i18n/locales/*, scripts/i18n-former-english.json
Script and template import/export paths carry Update mode and apply live plan overrides. Script parsing recognizes --update and rejects it for bidirectional sync. CLI output reports files requiring review. The guide and translations describe Update behavior and deletion safeguards.

Merge Risk: Low · previous review 803f5
One-way Update now preserves newer destination files and limits deletions. The remaining gap is a hardening item: the CLI command builder would not refuse an Update command if a future caller omitted its timestamp-safety inputs. The current UI always supplies them, so merge risk is low.

Revalidate the source path before remote deletion.
A nonempty replacement root passes the new guard even when the deleted local file was recreated or remains absent. The queued DeleteRemote action can then delete the remote copy from stale scan state. Add a per-path source and mount recheck before provider.delete.

Revalidate incremental plans after configuration changes.
The watcher stores the preparation-time configuration with each plan. After an update to RemoteToLocal Update, that plan can still call provider.rename on the remote source. Rebuild or discard the plan when sync_direction or update_only changes.

## Test Requirements
All pull requests should include tests for new features and bug fixes where applicable:
- **Backend (Rust)**: Add unit tests in `#[cfg(test)]` modules. Run with `cargo test` from the `src-tauri/` directory.
- **Security checks**: Run `npm run security:regression` to verify security invariants.
- **i18n**: Run `npm run i18n:validate` to ensure every translation key in the English reference (`en.json`) is present in all 46 translation locales (the tool reports `46/46`).
- **Type checking**: Run `npx tsc --noEmit` to verify TypeScript types.

Learning: In axpdev-lab/aeroftp, scripts/i18n-stale-english.mjs computes the enHash in scripts/i18n-former-english.json from flattened dotted-key translations, not the full src/i18n/locales/en.json document. readLocale() flattens the document's translations object; enHash(map) hashes JSON.stringify(Object.keys(map).sort().map((k) => [k, map[k]])) with SHA-256. Hash verification must exclude meta and use the same flattening and sorting contract.

Preserve and report never-synced destination files across full scans and watcher events without granting deletion authority on baseline migration. Revalidate current source paths, root identity, settings and destination freshness before Update operations, including native batches; retain unsettled uploads and deferred mass deletions for explicit review.
Display safety errors alongside conflicts, scope review notices per pair, preserve unset Mirror defaults in script exports, reject attached Update flag values and check nested backups per entry. Add regression coverage and document background deletion semantics and the remaining conditional-write limitation.

Separate Cloud transfer receipts from comparison history so legacy indexes,
newer-destination skips and identical pairs cannot grant deletion authority.
Bind each proof to its exact counterpart, destination side, captured local

@coderabbitai The corrected head is d9ee45b. All ten inline findings have individual replies. Please verify the two follow-ups and two nitpicks from review 5711940768 as well:
Remote deletion now rechecks the exact local source path and original root identity. A recreated source yields a safety skip and keeps the prior baseline. Parent/root replacements during an asynchronous stat cannot redirect receive writes/deletes. Both-direction and replacement regressions cover this.
IncrementalPlan snapshots all execution-relevant CloudConfig fields (excluding bookkeeping last_sync) and captures the root identity before preparation reads. Any changed direction, Update flag, retention, profile or roots discards stale prepared work before rename/write. Regression watcher_discards_a_prepared_rename_after_retention_or_direction_changes covers five configuration changes.
The mass-refusal regression compares the entire persisted baseline files map with the original snapshot after each of two refused cycles, in both directions.
The bulk iteration now has two eligible uploads and asserts the native bulk group contains both members. Additional freshness and edited-source tests cover real native batches.
Owner-requested background semantics now use separate persisted Cloud transfer receipts. Legacy v2 comparison history and Skip/Identical/mirrored rows never create deletion authority. Only actual stabilized transfers mint a receipt bound to exact counterpart, side, local native directory identity and the resolved endpoint/account/namespace/overlay. Changed or unverifiable destination-only files are preserved and named/countable on every applicable pass; this includes a lost phone's sole cloud photo and a destination changed after a genuine transfer. Fresh source/destination checks run immediately before deletion, and attempted failed/uncertain writes revoke persisted authority without advancing unrelated comparison history. Successful deletes immediately retire both history and receipts. Full/watcher/real-native-bulk regressions cover these cases and metadata-channel differences. Foreground AeroSync/CLI remain stateless Mirror Update; the separate scheduled AeroSync job is Requested101.
The docstring concern was addressed with contracts on the shared policy, guards, baseline migration, result recording, completion payload, native batch handling and script exports. Please assess the new-head widget separately from actual documentation findings. The CLI guide and PR description explain the background/foreground distinction and the residual stat/write race where conditional writes are unavailable.
For best results, initiate chat on the files or code changes.

@axpnet I verified the checkout at d9ee45b4d39e4967b9de29a34315a23fbee44698 against review 5711940768.
Both follow-ups and both nitpicks are addressed in the inspected source.
Finding
Verification
Revalidate before remote deletion
DeleteRemote checks the destination receipt, then rechecks the original local root identity and exact source path after the asynchronous STAT. A recreated source produces Skip. The regressions cover source recreation in both directions and parent/root replacement during STAT.
Discard stale incremental plans
IncrementalPlan captures the root identity and serialized CloudConfig, excluding only last_sync. Execution rejects configuration or root changes before remote rename/write operations. The regression covers direction, Update, retention, remote-root and profile changes.
Assert the persisted baseline after mass refusal
one_way_update_baselined_deletes_respect_the_mass_limit compares the complete persisted files map after each of two refused cycles, in both directions. It also checks that persisted receipts remain unchanged.
Exercise a real native bulk group
The incremental regression now has older and older2 as eligible uploads. It asserts two uploads, their destination contents and a two-member native bulk group. The freshness regression also checks a real two-member upload batch after excluding a newer destination.
The inspected receipt implementation supports the background/foreground distinction.SyncIndex.cloud_receipts is separate from comparison history. Receipt creation uses completed, stabilized transfers rather than Skip or mirrored rows. The inspected guards check receipt scope, counterpart, destination side and recorded destination metadata. Attempted mutations revoke prior receipts.
The CLI guide and PR description now explain that AeroCloud requires transfer receipts, while foreground AeroSync/CLI retain stateless Mirror Update semantics. They also document the metadata limits and residual observation/write race. This was a focused inspection, not an exhaustive audit of every provider identity implementation.
Documentation and the coverage widget are separate assessments. I found contract comments on the inspected policy, execution guard, receipt recording, baseline persistence, completion payload and native batch handling. I found no specific missing-contract defect in those sections. I did not recompute docstring coverage. The saved 65.71% assessment does not establish coverage at this head.
I did not run repository code or tests. I verified the regression source and assertions, not their runtime results. At inspection time, several current-head GitHub Actions jobs were still queued or running. Per CONTRIBUTING.md, wait for the required build, Clippy, Rust, TypeScript, localization and security-regression gates before merging; Checks/DCO success alone is insufficient.

Learning: Within repository "axpdev-lab/aeroftp", only for files matching one of ["src-tauri/src/cloud_service.rs","src-tauri/src/sync.rs"]: When reviewing AeroCloud background One-way Update deletion authority in src-tauri/src/cloud_service.rs or its persistence in src-tauri/src/sync.rs, require a separate receipt from an actual stabilized AeroCloud transfer. Verify that legacy comparison history and Skip/Identical/mirrored rows cannot create authority; the receipt must match the exact counterpart, destination side, local native directory identity and resolved endpoint/account/namespace/overlay. Require changed or unverifiable destination-only files to remain preserved and named/countable for review on applicable passes. Do not impose this receipt requirement on foreground AeroSync GUI or CLI Mirror Update, which retain stateless deletion semantics.

Timestamp: 2026-10-17T18:16:11.183Z
Learning: In axpdev-lab/aeroftp, AeroCloud's CloudConfig.last_sync represents the last full scan. The panel uses it to calculate the countdown to the next scheduled full scan. Clean incremental passes in src-tauri/src/cloud_service/incremental.rs should report Some(Utc::now()) in CloudSyncStatus::Idle without advancing CloudConfig.last_sync.

File: src-tauri/src/bin/aeroftp_cli.rs:35724-35772
Timestamp: 2026-09-27T23:26:25.746Z
Learning: In AeroFTP PR #964, edit-target inspection and `StorageProvider::replace` are separate requests. The `StorageProvider` trait has no conditional or versioned replace or delete operation. The PR explicitly declares that concurrent changes between inspection and publication remain possible; a second `stat` cannot close this race.

result.appliedOptions.mtimeToleranceMs to compare the millisecond timestamp
difference against the effective tolerance without truncating timestamps to

- Line 520: Carry the backend’s effective modify mode and modify window through
the CompareReport type and both recursive GUI call sites into
adaptFileComparisons, Mirror Update planning in PlanTabContent, and
buildCliSyncCommand inputs. Remove the adapter’s fixed size-and-mtime and 2000

Refuse receipt authority without a verified native directory or nonreused
boot-bound mount identity. Include native handle generation in cycle and
cache guards so replacement roots cannot inherit prior proofs.
Persist verified LIST-to-STAT observations separately from transfer receipts,
reuse only unchanged scoped snapshots, and invalidate attempted mutations
even when watcher transfers fail. Keep ordinary/bidirectional error
baselines unchanged and retain partial progress only for One-way Update.
Cover S3-style clock divergence at scale, failed watcher attempts, unknown
identity during partial failure, and deferred mass-delete safety gates.
Carry the effective backend timestamp policy through GUI planning and CLI
export, preserve millisecond boundaries, and hide unsafe native equivalents.
Keep Yandex login labels separate from UID-based namespace identity and
finish watcher passes normally after source-probe errors.

Both production call sites in src/App.tsx pass the fourth argument. The remaining callers that omit it are test-only calls, so the reported production impact on Mirror and Backup planning is not established.

- Line 255: Update both script exporters to use the compare-derived safety
decision before emitting an Update script: provide access to the relevant
compare result, refuse export when cliPreservesUpdateDestinations is false, and
include the effective modify window in the emitted command. Keep the existing
update_only behavior in the SyncTemplateDialog flow consistent with that
decision.
Review comments at @src/i18n/locales/en.json:
- Line 6631: Update the updateOnlyHint message and its corresponding
translations and CLI guide text to say that files with unknown dates are
compared by size, and that size differences are left for review; do not imply
all unknown-date files are left for review.

A difference strictly greater than the tolerance must select skip; equality must not trigger this skip. Do not truncate timestamps or round the tolerance to whole seconds.

Learning: In `src-tauri`, use `crypt_overlay_provider::overlay_kind` and `DEFAULT_OVERLAY_KIND` as the single source of truth for an enabled crypt-overlay kind. A missing or non-string `aeroCryptOverlay.kind` resolves to `"aerocrypt"`, while a disabled or absent overlay remains absent. CLI metadata gates `cryptOverlay` with `profile_has_crypt_overlay` so it remains consistent with `protocolClass: "Crypt"`.

Make the Update-only CLI gate fail closed when safety inputs are missing.
buildCliSyncCommand rejects an Update-only command only when timestampsComparable or updateTimestampPrecisionSafe is exactly false. If a caller omits either field, the check passes. The function then emits --delete --update without proof that timestamps are comparable or that whole-second CLI ordering preserves the destinations the GUI plan keeps.
PlanTabContent supplies both fields today, so this is not a current defect. The gate protects destructive overwrites and deletes, so a missing input should refuse the command.
Require both fields to be exactly true when updateOnly is set. Keep the timestampsComparable !== false check for --modify-window emission at lines 126-129 unchanged. Update the test at src/utils/aeroSyncCliCommand.test.ts lines 98-109 to pass timestampsComparable: true and updateTimestampPrecisionSafe: true.

A difference strictly greater than the tolerance must select skip; equality must not trigger this skip. Do not truncate timestamps or round the tolerance to whole seconds.

Do not change the volume-UUID lookup for this reason.
Current Darwin’s getvolattrlist replaces a non-root vnode with its mount root before reading volume attributes. A normal sync directory therefore does not inherently cause fgetattrlist to fail with EINVAL. The claimed loss of macOS identity is not established.

buildCliSyncCommand now refuses Update unless both timestampsComparable and updateTimestampPrecisionSafe are exactly true; the separate --modify-window emission condition is unchanged. Tests cover each missing field independently, and the successful both-direction case supplies both proofs explicitly.

@axpnet Verified the source at deb16fc73cf45687291bdea31398a1b78253fef0. The hardening addresses the concern.
When updateOnly is enabled, buildCliSyncCommand requires both safety inputs to be exactly true. Otherwise, it returns overwrites-newer.
The regression checks each missing input independently. The successful case supplies both proofs in both directions.
The separate --modify-window condition remains unchanged, consistent with the existing review guidance.
I inspected the source and test assertions. I did not rerun the reported 46 tests, TypeScript check, or diff check.

Learning: Within repository "axpdev-lab/aeroftp", only for files matching one of ["src/utils/aeroSyncCliCommand.ts"]: When reviewing Update command admission in src/utils/aeroSyncCliCommand.ts, verify that buildCliSyncCommand refuses an enabled updateOnly request with reason overwrites-newer unless timestampsComparable and updateTimestampPrecisionSafe are both exactly true. Missing inputs must not count as safety proofs. Check regression coverage for each missing input independently and successful generation in both directions with both proofs explicit. Keep this admission check separate from --modify-window emission; do not impose the two-proof requirement when updateOnly is disabled.

--update --deleteflags and the comparison window. Update script exports reuse the active comparison's timestamp-safety decision and effective window; unsafe, stale or unavailable comparisons are refused before file creation. Exporters retain saved Mirror defaults when no live override is set, and script import rejects attached values such as--update=false.Validation on integrated head 18f66e2 (main 3db2b98 / #1449): 263 focused frontend tests across 14 files, including the previously failing noPhantomKeys suite; 208 Rust tests passed with 3 live tests ignored across the affected providers, path-resolution guards and Update regressions; TypeScript, formatting and diff checks pass.
