Prepare FAT 2.0.0 as the first regular release of the Rust CLI, with native downloads for macOS, Linux, and Windows and a repeatable release process.

Changes

  • Synchronize all workspace crates, internal dependency requirements, runtime data, and citation metadata at 2.0.0 while retaining Rust 2024.
  • Use cargo-release for version updates, git-cliff for release-note drafts, and cargo-dist for native platform archives and GitHub release automation.
  • Build macOS Apple Silicon and Intel, Linux x86-64 and ARM64, and Windows x86-64 archives with matching runtime data, release notes, and dependency licenses.
  • Test extracted archives on every target and test both Linux builds on Fedora 42 before publication.
  • Support runtime data beside a portable executable as well as the existing bin/share installation layout.
  • Add curated first-release notes, SemVer and release instructions, a README release badge, download links, and installation guidance.

Validation

  • Formatting and strict workspace Clippy passed.
  • All 16 data CLI tests and 9 data-resolver tests passed, including the reproduced and fixed prefix-layout regression.
  • All 10 source-installer tests and verification of the 33 runtime-data files passed.
  • Rehearsed minor and prerelease version updates, asset-name replacements, changelog generation, and the single product tag in a disposable repository.
  • All 1,954 workspace tests passed, with no failures or ignored tests.
  • All five native builds and extracted-archive smoke tests passed; both Linux archives also passed on Fedora 42.

Configure shared workspace versioning and synchronized runtime data, add grouped changelog drafts, and document the release and installation workflow. Prepare curated first-release notes and automatic README release links.
Synchronize the shared crate version, pinned workspace dependencies, runtime-data manifest, and citation metadata. Make installer and runtime-data fixtures follow the package version, finalize the launch notes and standalone bundle instructions, and align documentation checks with Markdown publishing.
…forms

Use cargo-dist for native macOS, Linux, and Windows packaging and manual release publication. Bundle verified runtime data, release notes, and dependency licenses; gate publication on extracted-archive checks and Fedora smoke tests. Resolve adjacent data for portable executables and keep source installations supported.

…ions

Match executable-relative candidates by their resolved path as well as their origin. Preserve managed-version root reporting and cover installed-prefix status and portable archive status in regression checks.
