Moving the policy into .github/SECURITY.md leaves the existing root-relative link in README.md ([SECURITY.md](SECURITY.md)) pointing to a file that no longer exists, so readers using the README's Security section receive a 404. Update that link to .github/SECURITY.md or retain a root-level policy file.
