Use the -u option to update service options like:
sudo bash monitor.sh -u -b

If you are unsure what options are current for the service try:
sudo service monitor status
and you should see how the service is currently invoked

so it is currently running with -tad, update it like
sudo bash monitor.sh -u -b -tad
