  • ## Background Since the release of AgentScope 2.0.0, we have been focused on rebuilding the 2.x architecture and migrating core features from 1.x. With RAG, MCP support, Skill Hub, Channels, and Agent Team now in place, the foundational framework for building agent-based applications has taken shape. Starting from this milestone, we are adopting a more fine-grained release planning strategy with dedicated milestones for each minor version. This is intended to improve development transparency and make it easier for the open-source community to follow and contribute to our progress. ## Goals for v2.1.0 The primary objective of this milestone is to enrich and stabilize the core capabilities built in 2.0.x, and to make AgentScope 2.x ready for real-world production use. *Functionality* - Implement Realtime Agent support - Improve and stabilize the Agent Loop - Enrich and stabilize Channel, MCP Hub, and Skill Hub - Package the Web UI and Chat component as a standalone npm package - Adapt to MCP 2.0 - Improve Agentic Memory and integrate it into Agent Service as an optional default memory backend *Stability* - Fix bugs and potential data consistency issues in distributed deployment *Observability* - Add built-in observability to Agent Service, including storage, frontend visualization, and support for distributed deployment scenarios *Usability* - Provide deployment examples and guidance covering Desktop, Serverless (e.g. K8s), distributed, and local setups - Provide Docker packaging with one-command startup support

  • Since the initial release of AgentScope 2.0, there remains a great deal of room for further optimization and exploration. The AgentScope repository currently serves two distinct layers of functionality: - **Core capabilities**: Foundational agent building blocks, including models, agents, and permission systems - **Agent Service**: A hosted service layer with two primary goals: - Providing a stable, multi-tenant, multi-session backend service that can be seamlessly integrated into different user-facing systems - Providing a Web UI focused on quick prototyping and secondary development In this milestone, we aim to strengthen the core capability layer to better support service-level requirements, while expanding the agent service with richer collaboration patterns such as sub-agents, agent teams, and more.
