A simple script to swap Forza Horizon 6's text and radio station to your chosen language while playing with Japanese voices and navigation. Creates backups and is aware of changes made after updates.
- Launch Forza Horizon 6, go to its Settings > Language Select, Choose Japanese (日本語).
- It will say that it will need to download the necessary files. Allow it to do so.
- When it is done, close the game
- Drop the script into the same folder as the game's executable
- Run the script and make your choice:
- "Swap StringTables" - Swaps the Japanese text only
- "Swap RadioInfo" - Swaps the Japanese radio DJs (some stations are JP only regardless of language)
- "Swap everything" - Swaps both options above.
- "Change language" - Select which language you are replacing Japanese with. The script defaults to EN (English)
- "Restore from backup" - Restores from backup if any exist (generally not needed)
- Run the game with English text and Japanese audio
Open the script with notepad and editing FH6_LANGUAGE in the script. By default its set to EN for English.
- Note: You can find what values are available by going to
Forza Horizon 6\Content\media\stripped\stringtables. - Default (English):
FH6_LANGUAGE: str | None = "EN".
Open the script with notepad and edit FH6_DIRECTORY in the script.
- Note: Be sure to use double backslashes for directories!
- Default:
FH6_DIRECTORY: str | None = "D:\\XboxGames\\Forza Horizon 6\\Content\\"
The script will only make backups if your chosen base language's files differ from what was backed up or if no backup exists. This way we account for any updates as they come.
Should your UI be in Japanese, simply run the script again. No need to do anything more.
There seems to be certain things in the game that will not be translated as they are generated elsewhere. Examples include:
- Rival matches - The text here is most likely obtained by the server.
- Certain radio station DJs - They will always be in Japanese.
- System messages from Forza/Microsoft - Also generated by the server.
- JP Countdowns (Variable) - Changes the countdown to be in full Japanese using files found in its soundbank.
