Summary

The release workflow failed on its first run (tag v1.0.0) before building anything:

Invalid shell option. Shell must be a valid built-in (bash, sh, cmd, powershell, pwsh) or a format string containing '{0}'

  • Each step now uses shell: zsh -e {0}.
  • The -e makes a step stop at its first failing command. Without it, a failed ditto in the packaging step would be hidden by the shasum after it.

Testing

Ran each step's commands locally with zsh -e:

  • The tag check accepts v1.0.0 and rejects v1.0.
  • The universal build produces an x86_64 arm64 app at version 1.0.0.
  • Packaging produces a ZIP that passes unzip -t, plus its checksum.

GitHub Actions accepts only built-in shell names or a command template
with {0}, so `shell: zsh` failed every step before it ran. The steps now
run with `zsh -e {0}`, which also stops a step at its first failing command.
