Backend engineer in Belgium — Go microservices, Kubernetes, and the odd Discord bot at 2am.
Most of my day is spent on the backend: designing Go microservices, keeping PostgreSQL and MongoDB honest, and shipping them onto Kubernetes with Docker. I came up through the frontend though — Vue and Nuxt — and I still reach for it when a service needs a face, which means I can follow a feature from schema to screen without handing it off.
Right now I'm at Go Virtual, on the services behind real-time geofencing and centimetre-accurate RTK GNSS positioning — the kind where someone on a port or rail site gets a warning before proximity becomes an incident. Most of that lives in private repos, but the geospatial building blocks don't: I wrote tile38.go, a dependency-free Go client for Tile38 that speaks RESP straight over net.Conn and streams live geofence events.
Before that came Be-Mobile's mobility platform, including Sway, a safety app pairing real-time traffic data with smart notifications for cyclists and pedestrians. On the side I maintain strapi-prometheus, which wires Prometheus metrics into Strapi and has picked up users well beyond me.
Off the clock it's Discord bots, Flutter experiments, gaming, and cycling.
