How to store a document in a separate txt file instead of a single txt file containing multiple documents

The default execution result is that a txt file contains multiple documents. Now, I want a txt file to only contain one document. What should I do?

I wrote a simple script to do this:

This can be done either with a post-processing script, as given in the first response in this thread, or as a pre-processing step:

1a) identify the page, then extract just that page with the extract_page_range.py tool:

python3 ~/wikiextractor/tools/extract_page_range.py --input sdwiki-20260701-pages-meta-current.xml.bz2 --extract-id 2203 --output one_page.bz2 --templates templates.xml --extract-templates

or

1b) download the page you care about from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Export or whichever wiki has the page you want

2. run the extractor on just that one page
