Web Programming and Systems 2023-2024 Fall Semester CEID course project.
The aim of this project is to develop a collaborative system for registration of requests for assistance and the servicing of needs in a community that has been affected by a natural disaster (e.g. flood, earthquake, etc.). Through this platform, citizens can declare that they have specific needs for various items (e.g. water, food, medicine) or to state that they have a surplus and can donate certain items. We consider that citizens cannot move and serve each other, but in their surrounding area civil protection or volunteer vehicles (rescuers) , which can undertake the receipt or delivery of items (tasks). Also in the area there is a "base" of the rescuers, which acts as a central warehouse. Rescuers have the ability to see all requests or offers of citizens in a map display and each vehicle can undertake one or more tasks (receipt/delivery). Citizens respectively have access from their mobile phones and can state their needs for various items. The base may at times of its choice announce various needs for items that are in short supply, and these announcements appear on citizens' mobile phones. Each citizen can then declare whether they have the items requested by the base, so that they can be picked up by rescuers.
