Summary

  • Adds GMI Cloud (https://www.gmicloud.ai/) as a first-class OpenAI-compatible provider, gmi-cloud, at https://api.gmi-serving.com/v1.
    • Hybrid model catalog: four curated models (DeepSeek V4 Pro as the default, DeepSeek V4 Flash, Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.7) plus authenticated /v1/models discovery.
    • Reachable from /provider, --provider gmi-cloud (which also reads an optional GMI_MODEL) and saved profiles, including relaunch.
  • Adds GMI Cloud to the partner roster: the README partners table and the website, with light and dark logos.
  • Why: GMI Cloud is now an official OpenClaude partner.

Impact

  • user-facing impact:
    • New provider. GMI_API_KEY is a dedicated credential (dedicatedCredentialsOnly, same as Atlas Cloud):
      • a generic OPENAI_API_KEY is never sent to GMI;
      • the GMI key is never copied to a custom base URL;
      • --provider gmi-cloud drops an API format or custom auth header left by another provider.
    • Behaviour change: raw env OPENAI_BASE_URL=https://api.gmi-serving.com/v1 + OPENAI_API_KEY=<gmi key> used to run as a custom endpoint. It now stops with "GMI Cloud auth is required. Set GMI_API_KEY."
    • GMI's Anthropic-compatible endpoint on the same host (ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=https://api.gmi-serving.com) still resolves to custom-anthropic, as before. The route matches the default base URL only, not the whole host.
    • Partner logo on the README and the website. The README line that said the Opengateway routes GMI Cloud models is corrected (it no longer does).
  • developer/maintainer impact:
    • New src/integrations/gateways/gmi-cloud.ts and regenerated integration artifacts.
    • GMI wiring next to each Atlas Cloud special case: provider flag, profile env builder, profile apply/persist, relaunch carry-over, env-file allow-list, copied-key check.
    • New isGmiCloudBaseUrl helper (exact host match).
    • GMI_API_KEY is forwarded to spawned teammates.

Testing

  • I ran the required local preflight.
  • exact commands and results:
    • bun run typecheck: pass
    • bun run typecheck:type-tests: pass
    • bun run integrations:check: artifacts up to date
    • bun run build: pass; node bin/openclaude --version with and without NODE_DISABLE_COMPILE_CACHE=1: 0.32.0 (OpenClaude)
    • npm run test:provider-recommendation: 166 pass
    • bun run security:pr-scan -- --base origin3/main --head HEAD: no suspicious additions
    • cd web && bun run build: pass (verify-dist: ok)
    • git diff --check: clean
  • focused tests:
    • src/integrations/**, src/utils/providerFlag.test.ts, providerProfile.test.ts, providerProfiles.test.ts, envFile.test.ts, model/modelOptions.gateways.test.ts, providerRecommendation.test.ts, effort.codex.test.ts, swarm/spawnUtils.test.ts, scripts/system-check.test.ts: 1,348 pass, 0 fail
    • bun test --feature=UNATTENDED_RETRY --max-concurrency=1 src/services/api/openaiShim.test.ts src/services/api/openaiShim/requestExecutor.test.ts: 201 pass, 0 fail
    • New tests cover:
      • the descriptor contract;
      • the dedicated key (never falls back to OPENAI_API_KEY / OPENAI_API_KEYS; preferred over a generic key);
      • the flag path: stale key, stale auth header and API format cleared, no key mirrored to a custom URL, GMI_MODEL;
      • profile apply, persist and relaunch, and switching away;
      • teammate env forwarding;
      • Claude output limits not capped at 8,192;
      • the Anthropic endpoint on the same host staying custom-anthropic;
      • the discovery filter.
  • documented skipped checks, platform limitations, or verified pre-existing failures:
    • src/components/ProviderManager.test.tsx fails 20 of 76 locally on untouched main too. The failing set on this branch is identical; CI decides. GMI Cloud is inserted into PRESET_ORDER at its manifest position (after Fireworks AI).
    • Separately, that list appears to be missing 'API Route' since feat(gateway): add API Route hybrid gateway #2225.
    • Full bun run check was not used as a signal locally (known environment-driven false failures in untouched files).
  • Not yet run: a live request with a real GMI key. The wiring was checked against GMI's real endpoint with a dummy key, from a built CLI in an isolated home:
    • --provider gmi-cloud and raw env both POST to https://api.gmi-serving.com/v1/chat/completions with the GMI key and get GMI's 401 for the dummy key;
    • with only another provider's OPENAI_API_KEY, both stop locally with "GMI Cloud auth is required. Set GMI_API_KEY."

Notes

  • provider/model path tested: gmi-cloud route, deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4-Pro and deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4-Flash, dummy key only (see Testing).
  • screenshots attached (if UI changed): website partners strip in dark and light, and the README partners table in light and dark.
  • follow-up work or known limitations:
    • Live check with a real key: confirm the four curated ids on /v1/models, the discovery fields, and one tool-using agent turn per curated model.
    • Claude context is set to 200,000 (a safe floor); models.dev lists 409,600 for Claude on GMI.
    • Not included: key-only auto-start (like API Route / CONCENTRATE) and a sponsored startup tip.
    • Pre-existing and unchanged:
      • a 401 is retried eleven times (all providers);
      • Atlas Cloud has the same stale-header and custom-URL key gaps closed here for GMI.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added GMI Cloud as a provider, with OpenAI-compatible routing and authenticated model discovery.
    • Configure access with GMI_API_KEY. Qwen/Qwen3.8-Max is the default model; use GMI_MODEL or --model to select another.
    • Added GMI Cloud setup examples and provider and partner listings, including light- and dark-theme logos.
    • Added Qwen 3.8 Max and Qwen 3.8 Flash to the available models.

Add GMI Cloud (https://www.gmicloud.ai/) as a first-class
OpenAI-compatible provider and list it in the partner roster.

Provider (`gmi-cloud`):
- Gateway descriptor for https://api.gmi-serving.com/v1 with a hybrid
  catalog: a short curated list plus authenticated /v1/models discovery.
  Defaults to deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
- GMI_API_KEY is a dedicated credential. A generic OPENAI_API_KEY is
  never sent to GMI, and the GMI key is never mirrored to another host.
- Reachable from /provider, `--provider gmi-cloud` (which also reads an
  optional GMI_MODEL) and saved profiles, including relaunch.
- `--provider gmi-cloud` drops an API format or custom auth header left
  by another provider, since GMI is Bearer-only chat completions.
- Routes by its default base URL only. The same host also serves GMI's
  Anthropic-compatible API, which stays a custom Anthropic endpoint.
- Forwards GMI_API_KEY to spawned teammates.

Partner:
- README partners table and the website roster, with light and dark
  logos under docs/assets/ and web/public/partners/.

Docs: README provider row, .env.example and the website provider and
configuration pages. Also corrects the README line that said the
Opengateway routes GMI Cloud models, which it no longer does.
The partners table showed the light Twigpine logo as a white tile on GitHub's dark theme. Serve https://twigpine.com/logo-dark.png there, the same markup the Zero README uses.

Comment @coderabbitai help to get the list of available commands.

A live /v1/models call (79 models) shows GMI does not serve
anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6 or anthropic/claude-opus-4.7 on the
OpenAI-compatible API, so drop them from the curated seed. DeepSeek V4
Pro and V4 Flash (GMI's own coding picks) remain; discovery lists the
rest.

Tests now use the item shape the live endpoint returns (`name`,
`context_length`, `pricing`, no output limit), and the GMI_MODEL
examples use a served model id.
…Flash

GMI Cloud's partner models are Qwen 3.8 Max and Qwen 3.8 Flash. Add
shared descriptors for both (context as GMI's /v1/models reports it,
262,144 and 1,048,575; a conservative 65,536 output cap since GMI does
not publish one), curate them ahead of the DeepSeek V4 picks, and make
Qwen/Qwen3.8-Max the route default.

Verified live through a built CLI: read-a-file then write-a-file agent
turns succeed on both models, and `--provider gmi-cloud` with no
--model uses Qwen/Qwen3.8-Max.

invalid URLs. Add test cases confirming that HTTP URLs and URLs with a custom

Review comments at @src/utils/providerProfile.ts:

ambient OPENAI_BASE_URL when building a GMI profile. Resolve the URL from the

returning either API key; use defaultBaseUrl when the resolved URL is not a GMI
Cloud URL.

Review comments at @src/utils/providerProfiles.ts:

Address CodeRabbit's three findings on #2279:

- isGmiCloudBaseUrl now accepts only HTTPS on the default port, host
  api.gmi-serving.com, and a /v1 path or one below it. Plain HTTP,
  custom ports, the host root (GMI's Anthropic-compatible API) and
  other paths are rejected.
- buildGmiCloudProfileEnv no longer falls back to an ambient
  OPENAI_BASE_URL, which may belong to another provider. It keeps an
  explicit GMI URL and otherwise uses the route default, so the key it
  returns always targets GMI.
- The profile env mirror sets GMI_API_KEY only when the profile's URL is
  GMI's, not for any gmi-cloud profile, matching the startup checks.

Each fix has a test that failed before the change.

Comment thread src/utils/providerProfiles.ts Outdated
Address CodeRabbit's follow-up on #2279. Applying a gmi-cloud profile
whose base URL is not GMI's inference API installed the saved key as
OPENAI_API_KEY for that URL. Withhold it there, the same way this
function already treats retargeted ApiSmart, Concentrate, API Route,
LLMTR and Command Code profiles.

A gmi-cloud profile with no base URL now resolves to the GMI default
(like those routes), and the GMI_API_KEY mirror follows the resolved
URL.

Tests cover the retargeted profile in-session (neither key installed),
the empty-URL profile, and the persisted startup env of a retargeted
profile (always GMI's URL, never the other host). The first two failed
before this change.

src/integrations/routeMetadata.ts:1290-1306
🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Do not resolve GMI credentials for custom request URLs.

When routeId is gmi-cloud and request.baseUrl is custom, resolveRouteCredentialValue skips URL validation and returns GMI_API_KEY. requestExecutor then sends that value as Authorization: Bearer ... to the custom URL.

Add the GMI URL guard before routeMetadata.ts:1306.
