Performance HUD (PerfHUDGlobe)

A translucent, borderless 3D system performance HUD and real-time journalctl / /proc telemetry monitor for Linux desktop environments.

🎯 Core Purpose & Utility: Ambient Awareness of Unexpected Background Activity

Modern operating systems, background services, and AI/automation tools constantly execute tasks behind the scenes. The primary utility of Performance HUD (PerfHUDGlobe) is to make invisible or unexpected background activity on your computer immediately noticeable in your peripheral vision. Sitting unobtrusively in the bottom-right corner of your screen, its 3D telemetry globe and live log stream react the instant an unexpected process spikes CPU/RAM, hammers disk/network I/O, or emits unusual system logs—helping you stay aware and catch runaway jobs, silent updates, or suspicious background behavior right as they happen.

Performance HUD Overview

Architecture

  • Frontend: HTML5 Canvas, Three.js (WebGL 3D telemetry rendering).
  • Backend: Node.js, Electron.
  • Data Sources: Direct /proc virtual filesystem polling, systeminformation module, and asynchronous journalctl streaming.

Installation & Compilation

This application can be packaged as a standalone AppImage, requiring no local Node.js runtime for the end-user.

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/TeaCult/PerfHUDGlobe.git
    cd PerfHUDGlobe
  2. Install build dependencies:

    npm install
  3. Compile the standalone binary:

    npm run build
  4. Execution:

    # Grant execution permissions

🇹🇷 TÜRKÇE (TURKISH)

Performance HUD (PerfHUDGlobe)

Linux masaüstü ortamları için yarı saydam, çerçevesiz 3B sistem performans göstergesi (HUD) ve gerçek zamanlı sistem günlüğü (journalctl / /proc) izleyicisi.

🎯 Temel Amaç ve Fayda: Beklenmedik Arka Plan Aktivitelerini Anında Fark Etme

Modern işletim sistemleri, arka plan servisleri ve otonom araçlar siz fark etmeden arka planda sürekli işlem yürütebilir. Performance HUD'ın (PerfHUDGlobe) asıl amacı ve en büyük faydası, bilgisayarınızdaki beklenmedik arka plan aktivitelerini göz ucuyla anında fark etmenizi sağlamaktır. Ekranınızın sağ alt köşesinde dikkat dağıtmadan duran 3B telemetri küresi ve canlı log akışı; habersiz çalışan bir süreç işlemciyi, belleği, diski veya ağı zorladığında ya da olağandışı sistem kayıtları ürettiğinde görsel olarak anında tepki verir—böylece kontrolden çıkan süreçlere veya şüpheli arka plan hareketlerine karşı her zaman tetikte olmanızı sağlar.

Mimari

  • Önyüz: HTML5 Canvas, Three.js (WebGL 3D telemetri görselleştirme).

  1. Depoyu klonlayın:

    git clone https://github.com/TeaCult/PerfHUDGlobe.git
    cd PerfHUDGlobe
  2. Derleme bağımlılıklarını yükleyin:

    npm install
  3. Bağımsız ikili dosyayı derleyin:

    npm run build
  4. Çalıştırma:

    # Çalıştırma izni verin
    chmod +x dist/performance-hud-1.0.0.AppImage

    # Uygulamayı başlatın
    ./dist/performance-hud-1.0.0.AppImage
