Why

Eight eMudhra intermediate CAs had recoverable private keys and are now distrusted (disclosure). The scratch image copies its CA bundle from the golang:1.24-bookworm builder, which ships ca-certificates 20230311+deb12u1 and still trusts them.

Changes

  • Dockerfile: apt-get install --only-upgrade ca-certificates in the builder (-> 20250419~deb12u2)

Verification

Built the image locally (linux/amd64), extracted /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt:

  • curl --cacert to dv-g3b-emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com -> rejected; to pypi.org -> 200
