Update the package to current tooling and fix long-standing rough edges. - chalk 4 -> 5 (ESM), moment -> dayjs, eslint 8 -> 9 flat config - convert package to ESM (type: module, exports map, engines) - move fs/path imports out of the per-call hot path - route error/warn/crash to stderr, everything else to stdout - format objects and multiple args like console.log - auto-create the log folder instead of erroring mid-run BREAKING CHANGE: package is now ESM-only. Consumers must use `import`, not `require()`. error/warn/crash now write to stderr while all other levels write to stdout. Bumped to v2.0.0.
Publish on GitHub Release using npm Trusted Publishing (OIDC), avoiding a long-lived NPM_TOKEN secret. Node 22 and npm >= 11.5.1 required by trusted publishing; provenance is generated automatically.
Add a CI workflow that lints and tests on Node 18/20/22 for every push and pull request. Switch the publish workflow to trigger on push to main and guard it so npm publish runs only when the package.json version is not already on npm. Track the test directory (previously gitignored) so the smoke test that npm test runs is present in the repo and available to CI.
Bare push and pull_request triggers both fired on PR branches, doubling every matrix job to six checks. Scoping push to main leaves three checks per event.
