Important

Draft until posthog-android 4.0 and posthog-ios 4.0 ship. Merge with or after them. Companion posthog.com PR: PostHog/posthog.com#21741.

Problem

Mobile replay onboarding tells Android and iOS users to pick between wireframe and screenshot recording. posthog-android 4.0 (PostHog/posthog-android#908) and posthog-ios 4.0 (PostHog/posthog-ios#907, PostHog/posthog-ios#973) remove wireframe mode and its options, so following these steps on 4.0 doesn't compile.

Changes

Docs only. These files also render on posthog.com.

  • Android: drop screenshot = false from the sample. A comment says replays are masked screenshots and that versions before 4.0 also need screenshot = true.
  • iOS: drop screenshotMode and screenshotModeBackgroundCapture, with the same pre-4.0 note. The SwiftUI callout now says 4.0 records SwiftUI without extra config.
  • KMP: drop screenshot (chore!: remove SessionRecordingConfig.screenshot posthog-kmp#109).

Test rationale: Docs-only changes to code samples in template strings. No test covers this copy.

What the toolbar ships to customer pages, measured from the esbuild output (minified, post-tree-shake). The eager set is the entry plus everything statically imported from it — fetched before any feature runs; deferred chunks load lazily. The eager guardrail is 5.72 MiB. Each output file must also stay below 10 MB, where CloudFront stops compressing it. The module boundary is enforced separately by check-toolbar-graph.
