Summary

Set defaults: 'latest' in the website SDK loader. The site currently leaves this unset and uses legacy defaults. This opts the site into new defaults as the CDN SDK updates.

Changes

• Add one configuration line in gatsby/onPreBootstrap.ts.
• Keep every explicit setting unchanged, including capture_pageview: false.
• Scope is limited to the website SDK. Documentation snippets are unchanged.

Release dependency: Wait for PostHog/posthog-js#5405 to merge and reach the CDN before deploying this change. Website-team exception was confirmed by the requester.

Validation

• Prettier write and check passed for the changed file. git diff --check passed.
• Executed the generated loader in isolation with and without a custom asset host. Both configurations set defaults to latest. All other settings match the base branch.
• Ran autoreview with --mode branch --base origin/master on commit a795efd9cd. No actionable findings. No tests or test infrastructure changed.
• Started pnpm start with Node 22 on port 8002. Gatsby compiled and completed onPreBootstrap, but reported missing Ashby credentials and did not serve a page. Browser console and page validation remain incomplete.
• No visual changes, page moves, or redirects.
