Summary

Prepare NOVA 0.3.1 to correct the dependency and packaging issues found in the 0.3.0 release artifacts. The optional semantic extra now requires transformers~=5.10.0; the documentation extra requires mkdocs~=1.6.1, mkdocs-material~=9.7.7, and pymdown-extensions~=11.0. These ranges exclude versions affected by CVE-2026-9856, CVE-2026-73295, and CVE-2026-61632.

Include nova/sdk/README.md in both the source archive and wheel, and require it in artifact verification. Previously, the source archive omitted this file and failed its metadata test. Update the package version, changelog, and release notes for 0.3.1.

Validation

  • Ruff, bytecode compilation, secret scan, and whitespace checks pass.
  • All 151 tests pass in the checkout and in the extracted 0.3.1 source archive.
  • Runtime, semantic, and development dependency audits report no known vulnerabilities.
  • Source and wheel builds, Twine metadata checks, and artifact verification pass.
  • Isolated wheel installation and keyword/CLI smoke tests pass.
  • GitHub CI passes on Python 3.10 through 3.13, including package and dependency audit jobs.
  • CodeQL passes.

Compatibility

The detection engine, policy behavior, public APIs, and core runtime dependencies are unchanged. The optional dependency ranges are updated, and the SDK documentation now ships with the package.

Bump the docs dependency group to mkdocs~=1.6.1 and
mkdocs-material~=9.7.7, and add an explicit pymdown-extensions~=11.0
floor. mkdocs-material alone permits pymdown-extensions >=10.2, which
resolves to versions vulnerable to CVE-2026-61632 (fixed in 11.0.0)
and fails the dev-group dependency audit release gate. Runtime and
semantic dependency groups were never affected.
