Source of ezsp_protocol.xml

I was looking things over to see if it was easy to update the ezsp support from max v7 to the current v14. Just for some hobby stuff. I see part of the code is auto-generated. From ember the source for this is a file called ezsp_protocol.xml.

unfortunately the origin of where this file comes from is unspecified.

I would like to know this. So I might update it.

That is unexpected and maybe quite premature enthusiasm. Though appreciated.

I don't know if this is something I can figure out, but I would like to be able to control my new sonoff zigbee dongle.

In the meantime I found this:

I also found https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/user-guides/ug600-ezsp-reference-guide.pdf. Which is what the old documentation https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/user-guides/ug100-ezsp-reference-guide.pdf tells one to refer to from v8 onward.

The major difference seems to be in that from v8 they changed the structure of the ezsp frame and the function numbers and such.
So I basically need (as I see it) to :
write a new parser for the yaml (if it turns out to match the current protocol)
Create a new driver based on the old one.

It might be possible to combine both of them, but at this moment I am assuming writing a new one based on the old one is easier as you can make any change. Then compare and see if they can be integrated together without massive amounts of version based if statements. But In my experience. Once a manufacturer or other supplier starts to make breaking changes, you better of doing this yourself to.

So to be clear, I know little about zigbee or ember. But I can read the spec. I'll just see if I can get anywhere. implementing specs is a good way to learn about things.
