Summary

  • Add public-preview guidance for using the Work IQ MCP retrieve tool, including scalar query examples, retrieval strategies, source scoping, SharePoint Embedded support, structured responses, and error handling.
  • Add migration guidance from the Copilot Retrieval API, including licensing and billing differences, the planned November 2026 REST availability, SharePoint comparison guidance, and filter roadmap considerations.
  • Update the Work IQ MCP overview, tool reference, and table of contents.

Validation

  • markdownlint passed for all changed Markdown files.
  • cspell passed for all changed Markdown files.
  • Interactive Demo link validation passed for all changed Markdown files (12 existing links).
  • CleanupUnusedImages.ps1 completed with 0 unused files.
  • Full-repository Markdown lint and spell checks were also run; they report pre-existing failures in unrelated documentation files.

Interactive Demo

No retrieve-specific Interactive Demo link was added because a reviewed production experience and canonical generated deep link for this public-preview tool weren't available. Existing Work IQ MCP Interactive Demo links in the changed files were validated successfully.

Add public-preview usage and migration guidance for the Work IQ MCP retrieve tool, with navigation and reference updates.
