Explorers compass kicks player from server

Description

When using the explorers compass on a server for the Prominence 2 modpack, the player is instantly kicked from the server, getting an invalid character error, similar to:

The attached log is me using the compass after a reboot, it just disconnects without printing much to the logs

In single player, the compass does not cause a crash/kick

Ah, didn't realize at the time, but the server and client were on different versions of the modpack
when joining with the appropriate version, the compass works as intended
