feat(packages): let Package fixtures stop reaching Core internals - #624
Conversation
Package fixtures reached Core internals through package-api exemptions. crate::package_fixture exists only with debug_reducers and gives them real damage, a logout-style removal, an imported-content refusal, the top threat target, a client-Gate cast and the next movement tick. The lint accepts the root only in a Package file gated on debug_reducers, and no exemption clears it, so a release build never compiles a path to it. Priority: ⬇️ Low Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes Change: Feature Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The new debug fixture helpers can stop creature movement on Shards that use only the catch-all schedule after a declared tick. They can also refuse to run on a Shard that was repaired but never imported content. These helpers ship only in debug builds, but both issues should be fixed before Packages depend on them. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 5✅ Passed checks (5 passed)

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Exclude Core repair stamps from the import check.
After debug_repair_after_publish runs, it stamps game_import_meta with family debug_repair_after_publish. This predicate accepts that stamp as imported content. require_no_imported_content then refuses even when no content was imported. Exclude Core maintenance stamps while retaining refusals for actual import families. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Restore the catch-all movement interval after the declared tick.
If the sole catch-all schedule is changed to ScheduleAt::Time, SpacetimeDB runs it once and removes the row. tick_creatures handles that firing but does not re-arm the interval. Instances without a dedicated schedule then stop receiving creature movement ticks until repair re-seeds the catch-all row. Re-arm the interval after the one-shot firing, or use a separate one-shot schedule that leaves the catch-all interval intact. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Package fixtures in dungeons and playerbots reach Core internals through
package-api: exemptlines. They damage a boss, remove a live Character, refuse imported content, read the top threat target, cast as a client and move the creature movement tick. Each exemption is a gap in the Package API. The goal is that no official Package needs one. This PR adds
crate::package_fixture, a Package API root that exists only when the Module builds withdebug_reducers. It has six operations:apply_damagedeals non-lethal damage through the real Core damage pipeline.remove_live_characterremoves a live Character as a logout does.require_no_imported_contentrefuses when the Shard holds imported content. The weather seed a fresh Module stamps does not count.top_threat_targetreads the highest-threat living source on a creature.client_castcasts through the same Gates asgw_cast_at.declare_next_movement_tickmakes the catch-all creature tick fire once after a delay. The ticket also asked for a navigation revision read.
nav::inputs(ctx, map).imported_revisionalready gives it, so I did not add a second one.The lint accepts
package_fixtureonly in a Package file whose first non-blank line is#![cfg(feature = "debug_reducers")]. A release build compiles every other file and has no such root, so the lint refuses the path there, and no exemption clears it. Four lint tests cover the refusal, the gated file, the exemption and the message. The Package API doc lists the root as debug only. The changelog and CONTEXT.md (new term: Package Fixture) describe it. The API version stays at 1.Pair: LyraCoreProject/packages#69 moves dungeons and playerbots to the root. Merge Core first, then the packages PR.
