@coderabbitai full review Please review the revised durable GUID Range allocator on fa64b46. The implementation changed after the earlier review. Local Module, item GUID durable, random-property durable, Loot Tag and preflight checks pass; the prior bag-type finding is fixed and resolved. |

Independent review complete through c0ddfd0. Root and GPT-5.6 Sol reviewed the compatibility correction after CodeRabbit's full fa64b46 review. Gateway range setup intentionally continues after provisioning failures, so deleting a legacy Character before range installation must preserve the durable allocation floor. The correction retains that behavior and still excludes foreign Character GUIDs once a range exists. The new durable regression deletes Character 1 without a range, installs base 0, and proves the next Character gets GUID 2. The existing cross-range regression proves a foreign arrival cannot consume the destination range. The 12 item GUID durable cases, 11 allocator unit tests and offline preflight pass. The final rebase adds the already reviewed loot retry and two comment corrections, with no further GUID runtime change. No remaining source review blocker found. Merge remains pending current-head CI; deployment still requires the documented legacy GUID and range audit. CodeRabbit's completed full review explicitly covers fa64b46 and reported no actionable findings. It does not cover the later compatibility correction, which has the independent reviews above. |
Item creation can issue another Character's item GUID. The old allocator truncates the owner GUID and increments past its packed block.
Allocate items from the existing durable Shard GUID Range shared with Character creation. Keep the item wire prefix, tag the new format, and reserve complete batches before inventory or Trade edits. Issued IDs are never reused after consumption or Transfer. Foreign Characters cannot advance a provisioned destination's allocator. Before range installation, deletion retains the legacy floor so a temporary provisioning failure cannot permit reuse. Refused crafting restores carried inventory and defers direct profession gains.
Existing items and Transfer Escrow retain their exact IDs. No schema, reducer arguments, or Transfer formats change. Import explicitly refuses conflicting legacy IDs. The allocation and deployment plan requires an authorized audit of all Shard ranges and legacy IDs before deployment. Mixed recipes with triggered effects retain authored ordering; inventory restoration is not whole-cast rollback. Real 5875 client acceptance remains outstanding.
Local verification passed: Module library tests, all 12 item GUID durable tests, all 11 random-property durable tests, Loot Tag, Gateway Transfer cleanup, Gateway armor projection, and offline preflight. Coverage includes shared range and format exhaustion, Trade refusal, crafting identity and restoration, legacy collisions, distinct-range Transfer in both directions, Mail, Buyback and Auction replay. The tests reproduced the original owner collision, consumed-reagent ID reuse, and a high-range Transfer advancing a destination mark from 6 to 1000000006 before the fixes. Final-head CI passed: full unit and durable suites, auction Refusal and Gateway ownership/projection regressions, complete Gateway binding parity, build, Wasm, strict clippy and fmt.
CodeRabbit completed its full review of
fa64b46with no actionable findings. The later fixture ordering and legacy-floor compatibility correction passed independent review and local durable tests. Current CI covers that follow-up; CodeRabbit's later incremental requests are rate-limited.Refs #71.
