Spike, offline only. Spec: the packages-devx design, §Runtime scripts — the client-addon asterisk (public proposal: #1; the full design doc lives in the private working origin).
The 1.12 client runs Lua 5.0 — no # length operator, older varargs, pre-5.1 stdlib. TypeScriptToLua's official targets start at 5.1 and its output uses 5.1isms freely. Question: is a 5.0-compatible TSTL path feasible (downlevel target, post-transform, or shim), so "TypeScript for addons" can eventually join "TypeScript for extensions"?
Scope: transpile a representative addon-shaped script; validate the output under a real Lua 5.0 interpreter OFFLINE (not the live client — a client-side load check escalates separately later if the offline result is positive).
Done when: a findings note (appended to the Lua-scripting research notes, private working origin) concludes feasible-with-recipe or not-feasible-because, with a Lua-5.0-interpreter-validated sample either way. Client addons stay hand-written Lua until then; nothing blocks on this.
