Add Cospend Category and Payment method fields #42
Hi, thanks for the input. That is great information to have, unfortunately my focus as an open source developer currently is on another project, so it could take some time until I take care of it. If someone else wants to step up, I'll gladly provide help.
Hi, I recently started working on PayForMe again. You asking made it definitely more likely. As I'm currently only working on the app in my free time, I can't make any promises though.
There is currently a beta version including some other new features if you would like to test them: https://testflight.apple.com/join/o6XAnU9g
The categories will also appear earlier there then on the public app
@InteractionEngineer
Are you currently working on this, or have plans to work on in the future? I'd like to use category and payment method in the future again.
If you don't mind, I may have time to take a look at it soon propably!
@magshee Nice! Feel free to assign this issue to yourself. I actually did plan to rework the app's user flow and provide a coherent figma file (design specification) in the next couple of weeks (during September at the latest). Maybe keep this in mind when implementing and try to make the background logic flexible / independent from the UI implementation so it's easy to adjust when the new user flow sees the light of day. I'd be fine to make it available in a more bare bones version though so users can profit from the new functionality early on. And please also keep in mind that this would only work for Cospend projects, as IHM has not implemented such categories, afaik.
Unfortunately I was a little busy since I decided to pick up this issue. Additionally the solution was not as straight forward, as I thought it would be. I currently have a (at least partially) working solution. I hope I can present a pull request soon, I just wanted to do some more tests before to figure out if my implementation is working properly.
@magshee Take your time, I appreciate you testing it properly and not rush it. I'm, again, slower than I've planned as well – that's life. Let's keep building this together though, PayForMe will get better every PR. Looking forward to your solution!

Is there any chance this would be implemented in the near future?
Adding a category from a drop down list would be really nice!

Is it possible to have another link for the beta version?

This issue can be closed as #103 is merged, right?

Yes, it's already in the AppStore. Thank you again @magshee! 🤩
