# MailVault Collection Profiler v0.1.0-alpha.6

Final feature-complete prerelease combining incremental profiling, continuous watch, crash-safe
resume, content-addressed file/format reuse, update-aware full-snapshot metadata reconciliation,
stable archive identity migration and bounded snapshot retention.
## Release status

Publication requires the Windows quality gate and the real-archive initial/no-change/delta/crash/soak
acceptance scripts to pass. After Alpha 6 only maintenance, security and compatibility fixes are in scope.
Alpha 6 is the final feature-complete prerelease of the MailVault Collection
Profiler continuous-profiling runtime.

It is intended for technical evaluation and controlled profiling of existing
MailVault schema-v3 archives on Windows x64.

After Alpha 6, only maintenance, security and compatibility corrections are in
scope for this prerelease line.

## Implemented capabilities

- read-only MailVault schema-v3 preflight;
- SQLite Online Backup source snapshots;
- stable collection binding and archive identity aliases;
- initial, incremental and rebuild generations in one workspace;
- update-aware full metadata reconciliation;
- cumulative SHA-256 content projection;
- selective reuse of successful unchanged file-stat results;
- retry of unavailable, missing, mismatched and I/O-error objects;
- exact-format identification with Siegfried 1.11.6 and PRONOM v124;
- content-addressed reuse for duplicate attachment SHA-256 values;
- same-run resume after interruption in source snapshot, metadata inventory,
file-stat and format-identification stages;
- continuous watch with stable source-revision polling and retry backoff;
- bounded successful-snapshot retention and orphan cleanup;
- automatic workspace schema migration from version 6 to version 7.

## Runtime validation

The Alpha 6 candidate passed:

- complete Windows quality gate;
- Rust formatting, strict Clippy and all Rust tests;
- TypeScript, Vite and native Tauri validation;
- MSI and NSIS installer builds;
- real-archive initial profile;
- immediate no-change incremental profile;
- real IMAP delta ingestion;
- duplicate-SHA occurrence reuse without duplicate content objects;
- forced termination and same-run resume in all four processing stages;
- 100-generation bounded-growth soak;
- source-revision v3 watch stability;
- independent rebuild equivalence;
- canonical MailVault source immutability checks.

## Safety and privacy

The profiler treats the MailVault archive as read-only.

Profiling data, checkpoints, findings and retained snapshots are written only to
the selected profiler workspace. The profiler does not execute attachments,
modify MailVault records or repair source archive files.

Public release assets do not include runtime databases, archive payloads, logs,
private screenshots, acceptance workspaces or real-archive evidence.

## Compatibility boundary

- Windows x64;
- MailVault schema version 3;
- profiler workspace schema version 7;
- Siegfried 1.11.6;
- PRONOM signature version 124;
- NSIS and MSI installer formats.

Newer unsupported MailVault schemas fail closed during preflight.

## Known limitations

- installers are currently unsigned and Windows may display a publisher or
SmartScreen warning;
- unavailable or missing source objects are reported and retried but are not
repaired by the profiler;
- exact-format identification may legitimately classify unsupported content as
unknown;
- OCR, text extraction, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, LLM classification,
procurement semantics, RMS integration, attachment execution and container
expansion are outside this profiler;
- Alpha 6 remains a prerelease and should not be treated as a substitute for
independent backups of the MailVault archive or profiler workspace.

## Upgrade and rebuild

Back up an existing profiler workspace before opening it with Alpha 6.

Supported version-6 workspaces are migrated to workspace schema version 7. For
independent verification or when replacing an experimental workspace, create a
new workspace and run a clean rebuild against the same read-only MailVault
archive.

Do not place the profiler workspace inside the MailVault archive.

## Artifact verification

After downloading the release assets and `SHA256SUMS.txt`, run:

```powershell
Get-Content .\SHA256SUMS.txt
Get-ChildItem -File -Include *.exe,*.msi |
ForEach-Object {
Get-FileHash `
-LiteralPath $_.FullName `
-Algorithm SHA256
}
```

Compare every calculated SHA-256 value with `SHA256SUMS.txt`.

For repository provenance verification:

```powershell
Get-ChildItem -File -Include *.exe,*.msi |
ForEach-Object {
gh attestation verify `
$_.FullName `
--repo FireXCore/MailVault-Collection-Profiler
}
```

Installers must remain byte-identical to the assets referenced by the published
checksum manifest and provenance attestations.
