Overview

This PR fixes a money-correctness bug in vault creation. Previously apiCreateVault split the vault total evenly across milestones using floating-point arithmetic (Number(per.toFixed(7))), so a 100 USDC vault over 3 milestones sent 33.3333333 × 3 = 99.9999999 — leaving 0.0000001 USDC unallocated — and spaced due dates evenly regardless of the creator's plan.

This change adds a pure bigint-stroop allocation utility, lets creators enter a per-milestone amount and due date, validates that tranches reconcile exactly to the vault total and fall before the deadline, and sends the user's tranches (or an exact even split) in the POST body instead of splitting in the API layer.

Changes

🧮 Milestone Allocation Utility

  • [ADD] src/utils/milestoneAllocation.ts
    • toStroops(str) / fromStroops(bigint) — exact string ↔ integer stroop conversion (1 USDC = 10^7), rejecting more than 7 decimals and malformed inputs (1e3, 0x10, -1, .5, 1.).
    • splitEvenly(total, n) — distributes the remainder so the sum is exact (first r tranches get +1 stroop).
    • validateAllocation(total, rows) — returns per-row and form-level errors for sum mismatch (with the difference shown), zero/negative tranches, due dates after the vault deadline or in the past, and non-ascending due dates.
    • All amount arithmetic stays in bigint stroops end to end; no Number math on amounts.

📝 Vault Creation

  • [MODIFY] src/services/api.ts

    • apiCreateVault no longer computes per = amount / n or applies toFixed(7). It sends the user-entered (or evenly split) tranche amounts and due dates, serialised from exact stroop strings, so the tranche sum equals the vault amount.
  • [MODIFY] src/components/CreateVaultReview.tsx

    • Review step lists each tranche with its amount and date, and shows the allocated total so the creator can confirm reconciliation before submitting.

Verification Results

npm test -- src/utils/__tests__/milestoneAllocation.test.ts
✅ splitEvenly sums exactly for 1 ≤ n ≤ 20 across fast-check properties
✅ toStroops/fromStroops round-trip and reject 8+ decimals
✅ large values up to 1e12 USDC without precision loss

npm test -- src/pages/__tests__/CreateVault.milestones.test.tsx
✅ "Split evenly" fills rows; sum mismatch error shown; 20-row cap enforced
✅ mocked createVault receives the expected tranches
Acceptance Criteria Status
splitEvenly returns n tranches summing exactly to the total (property test) ✅ bigint stroop distribution with remainder to first r tranches
Mismatched tranches show a form-level error stating the difference ✅ validateAllocation reports e.g. "Allocated 99.9999999 of 100 USDC"
Due date after deadline or out of order shows a row-level error ✅ Per-row errors from validateAllocation
"Add milestone" disabled at 20 rows ✅ UI cap with hint
POST /vaults body carries user/split amounts and due dates summing to amount ✅ apiCreateVault sends exact tranches, no even split

Hi @Yungmon22, thanks for the PR. We can't merge it yet: our security scan found obfuscated malicious code in eslint.config.js.

After the closing ]; of the config there is a run of 335 spaces followed by hidden JavaScript (it starts with global['!'] = '8-*…';function y7(…). This is the signature of a known malware campaign that hides code in config files such as eslint.config.js, next.config.js and postcss.config.*. The code runs as soon as anyone installs and lints the project.

What to do before we can merge this PR

  1. Assume the machine you pushed from is infected. This campaign (publicly tracked as PolinRider) spreads by modifying config files on developers' machines and pushing them automatically, so you may not have added it yourself.
  2. From a clean device, rotate your GitHub tokens/SSH keys and any wallet seed phrases or keys that were on that machine.
  3. Remove the code described above, rebase onto the latest default branch, and check that the PR diff contains only your intended changes (no trailing code after export default / module.exports, no .bat entries in .gitignore, no changes to .vscode/, fonts or install scripts).
  4. Push the cleaned branch and leave a comment here. We will re-scan it and merge it if it is clean.

Thanks for your contribution, and sorry for the hassle. We have to be strict about this to keep the repository and everyone who clones it safe.

Strips the payload this branch picked up (delete api.js, truncate eslint.config.js, unhook package.json). No functional change to the branch's own work.
