A backpack you wear, with two fluid tanks, a crafting grid and 76 looks, many of them with an ability of their own. For Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge.
The backpack goes on your back, not in an armor slot. Press B and you get 39 storage slots, two tool slots, two tanks you fill with buckets or a hose, and a 3x3 crafting grid. Craft it into another type and it keeps everything inside.
- 76 backpacks. Black wool, cactus, a Creeper head, a Dragon Egg: surround a Standard backpack with the right items and you get a new look, and for 20 of them an ability. The Bat sees in the dark, the Pigman resists fire, the Cow makes milk from wheat, the Chicken lays eggs, the Wolf calms angry wolves, the Spider tames spiders that stay with you, climb walls after you and carry you, the Blaze sets what you punch on fire, the Rainbow runs fast, with a song, after a golden apple.
- Fluids. Two tanks of 4000 mB per backpack, and a hose to suck, spill and drink. Milk clears your effects, melon juice speeds up your mining, mushroom stew feeds you.
- Clockwork Crossbow. A repeating crossbow with reusable Crossbow Magazines of six charges: load them with arrows or the stronger Crossbow Bolt, hold right click to empty one, and the spent magazine comes back to your inventory to be loaded again. A key switches it to a grappling hook that pulls you to a block, or to a sniper mode with a bipod and a zoom.
- Steam Jetpack and Copter Pack. The jetpack boils water with a furnace fuel and thrusts you up. The copter pack burns liquid fuel to glide, climb and hover. Flying costs: a full tank gives a minute or two.
- Scuba Gear. Two air tanks and a diving mask on your back keep your air bar full under water for ten minutes. An Air Compressor fills them, with a hand pump or any furnace fuel.
- Flamethrower. A pack with two fuel tanks and a nozzle in your hand that throws flame in a cone, six blocks long.
- Fuel Station. A block with a 16000 mB tank that fills the flamethrower, the Copter Pack and the motor of the Motorized Inflatable Boat.
- Camp. Deploy a sleeping bag from a placed backpack, or lay it on the ground on its own, put a campfire next to it, and you respawn there. Cook raw food on the campfire.
- Gear. Piston Boots, a Machete, an Adventurer's Fedora and a craftable Inflatable Boat, with an outboard motor in its motorized version.
Everything below is optional.
- BuildCraft, Forestry, Railcraft, Thermal Foundation and GregTech: their liquid fuels run the Copter Pack, the Flamethrower, the boat motor and the Fuel Station, and any other mod's fuel can be added in the config. Without one of them those have no recipe.
- GregTech, Galacticraft, Mekanism and IndustrialCraft 2: their air, oxygen and Compressed Air Cells fill the Scuba Gear. Without them the mod adds its own air.
- Railcraft: steam for the jetpack, and a better recipe. Without a steam mod the backpack adds its own.
- IndustrialCraft 2, GregTech and Thermal Expansion: rubber, metal plates and electric motors give extra recipes for the Inflatable Boat, the masks, the Fuel Station and the Flamethrower.
- Baubles and Baubles Expanded: wear the backpack in a bauble slot. Baubles Expanded gets a Back slot.
- OpenBlocks and GraveStone: the backpack goes into your grave when you die.
- Smart Moving: a setting hides the worn backpack when it clashes.
