The icon theme for Vamox is a completely original design: one perspective for every icon, even the notifications. All icons in the theme are vector files (SVG). At first we made a light-blue theme for Ubuntu 8.04 (Gnome) with later updates for more compatibility with other desktop systems.
- Vamox celeste: Light blue, using the color of the argentinian flag. This was the main theme, launched 19 Dec. 2008.
- Vamox mate: green, inspired of the color of the "yerba mate".
- Vamox ceibo: Red inspired by Ceibo, a tree with red flowers, a national Symbol.
- vamox jacarandá: Light violet, inspired by the flowers of the tree of the same name, Very common on the streets of La Plata on spring.
Vamox-icons are made with an original perspective, done after several months of testing.
- Drawing style typical of the Rio de la Plata, called Fileteado
- Objects used by students, (ie. plastic wallet folder instead of paper flat folder icons)
- textures more typical por students to see (ie. nylon of backpacks instead of carbon fiber)
