Visual Studio Code Extension Downloader.

Installation

pip install git+https://github.com/AmirMahmood/getvsix.git

Usage

Simply pass one or more extension UIDs (<publisher.extension>) as arguments to the getvsix command.

getvsix ms-python.python ms-python.debugpy

Or use a text file listing extension UIDs and pass it with the --file option.

getvsix --file extensions_list.txt

In the text file, each line represents one extension UID. You can add comments using #.

ms-python.python 
ms-python.debugpy  # second comment

The getvsix command tries to detect your system's platform and architecture, and falls back to the Universal platform if it can't. You can select a platform with the --plat option.

getvsix ms-python.python --plat win32-x64

Other options

• --dest <path>: Change download directory. Default is current directory.
• --no-overwrite / --overwrite: Use --no-overwrite to skip re-downloading when the extension already exists in the destination directory. --overwrite is the default.
