The local performance summaries could not tell whether a sport recording or Lift Log was running. Comparing training with ordinary Today and Trends use meant guessing.

Each summary now carries independent workout and Lift Log states: none, active or paused. A phase change flushes the current window and records an elapsed-time marker. Capture start reads the current sessions, including restored sessions and changes made in the background. Normal pulse and set updates do not split windows. An unavailable session source is labelled n/a.

The observers exist only while capture is running. This uses the existing opt-in local archive and export path. The added fields contain no workout names, session IDs, pulse values or set details. The interval crossing a phase change belongs to the following phase, so transition hitches remain visible.

Verified locally:

  • macOS Release build and 49 focused app tests
  • iOS Release build, including widgets and Watch targets
  • 338 Python tests, translation coverage, source hygiene and source and binary security checks

This is an Apple diagnostic change. Build 453 will provide the next real training capture. Callback timings still cannot identify GPU or rendering bottlenecks on their own.

Replaced by #31, which retains this draft's commits and includes the tested build-454 UI update fix. The current device comparison will be recorded there.
