brew install of vettd CLI failing for Mac users

Description

Homebrew installation of the vettd CLI is having issues, which blocks Mac users from installing the tool. Tracked here because homebrew-tap has issues disabled.

Source: Quentin Fennessy usability test, 09/14/2026 ("brew is having issues with the cli").

Scope

• Reproduce and fix the brew installation failure.
• Coordinate with the homebrew-tap formula as needed.

Acceptance Criteria

• Failure reproduced with steps documented.
• brew install succeeds for Mac users.

Root cause (investigation): Homebrew 6.0.0+ enforces tap trust — formulae from non-official taps are skipped with a "not trusted" warning until the tap or formula is explicitly trusted. Our install docs across every surface said brew tap AgenticHighway/tap + brew install vettd with no brew trust step, and the tap README still pointed at the long-renamed proov formula. That also explains why darwin-asset download counts are roughly zero — the failure happens before download.

Canonical install form now documented:

brew tap AgenticHighway/tap
brew trust --formula AgenticHighway/tap/vettd
brew install vettd
