Please somebody with a little bit of design skills ...
it would be super awesome if we have some minimal UX experience or at least some ... oho, this looks cool effect for the GLP lab.

1. please remove all unneeded clutter (all those buttons/icons)
2. give it a bit color and make it a happy place

kusi's idea to make it a happy place... put some funky background ... (that doesn't use all the cpu)
