Yifan Lu's personal website

A static academic homepage for GitHub Pages. No package installation or build is required.

Preview

From this directory, run bash run_server.sh, then open http://localhost:4000. Pass a different port with bash run_server.sh 4001. The homepage can also be opened directly from index.html.

Editing

  • index.html: biography, research interests, news, selected publications, and links.
  • assets/css/homepage.css: layout, typography, and responsive styles.
  • images/image.png: the supplied profile photo, copied without modification.
  • assets/fonts/lato/: locally hosted Lato fonts and their license.
  • files/Yifan_Lu_CV.pdf: the downloadable CV (public copy without phone number or ZIP). Refresh it from ../resume/main-web.pdf after resume updates; see the build command at the top of ../resume/main.tex.

Experience is intentionally omitted from the homepage. The CV remains available from the contact links.

Selected Publications lists RouterArena, FAFO, and RegexRoute. All other papers (MQuAKE-Remastered, DirtyRAG, Who Routes the Router, The Routing Plateau) are covered by the Google Scholar link above the list. Author order and equal-contribution marks are retained, including Yifan's third-author position on FAFO.

Hosting

The .nojekyll file tells GitHub Pages to serve this directory as a static site. Publish these files at the root of the yl231/yl231.github.io repository, using GitHub Pages' branch deployment. The /about/ and /about.html URLs redirect to the homepage.

The previous AcadHomepage/Jekyll files remain for reference, but they are not part of the new homepage's rendering or build. In particular, edit index.html, not _pages/about.md or _data/news.yml.

Design

The page proportions, Lato typography, heading sizes, and link styling are adapted from Jon Barron's academic homepage and its public source, whose README permits reuse for personal websites. The layout uses responsive, semantic HTML with Yifan's content and supplied photo. The former concept illustrations remain in images/research/ for reference but are not displayed or included in the preview package.
