I’ve recently started a small project that makes use of WebAssembly and Emscripten to make use of an open source C library (PCRE2) from within Node.js (or a browser). I had some misconceptions about what WebAssembly was (I thought it was standardized executable bitcode format for JavaScript), and I’ve learned a bit about how to use it and what its limitations are.
