Publish paper to arXiv (cs.DL) or alternative preprint server

Goal

Publish the LMD paper to a suitable preprint server for discovery, citation, and community feedback.

Preferred option: arXiv (cs.DL)

• Primary category: cs.DL (Digital Libraries) — best conceptual fit for document formats / metadata / semantic publishing
• Secondary categories: cs.SE, cs.IR
• Blocker: need an endorser in cs.DL — currently pursuing Peter Haase (metaphacts, SemOpenAlex)
• Paper metadata currently has primary_category: cs.SE — needs update to cs.DL before submission

Fallback options (in order of fit)

1. Zenodo — general research repository, gives DOI, no endorsement needed
2. OSF Preprints — broad preprint hosting, no endorsement needed
3. TechRxiv — engineering/CS-leaning, IEEE-affiliated
4. HAL — institutional-style archiving, strong for CS research
5. Research Square — broad, more life-sciences-leaning but accepted for CS

Tasks

• Secure arXiv cs.DL endorser (see issue Draft and publish LinkedIn post introducing LMD #8)
• Update paper.md primary_category to cs.DL
• Submit to arXiv
• If arXiv stalled, evaluate and submit to best-fit alternative
• Mirror to Zenodo for DOI regardless of arXiv outcome

Step 4: Keep a Zenodo mirror ready in parallel with arXiv. If arXiv endorsement lands, submit there first, then archive the same paper on Zenodo for DOI and long-term access. If arXiv stalls, Zenodo becomes the fallback public release path.
