Your Eyes In Space is free, and it will stay free.

Since launch in late September it has had tens of thousands of visits from all over the world: teachers in classrooms, parents with their kids, people who just wanted to see how far away Voyager really is. No ads, no accounts, no paywall.

A space simulator and astrophysics classroom that runs in any browser: 109,000 real stars in their real positions, galaxies, black holes, spacecraft from Voyager to JWST where they actually are right now, NASA imagery streaming onto Earth, the Moon and Mars, plus narrated tours and an introductory astrophysics course in five languages.

And it doesn't stop here. A sky-events calendar is just going live, with each upcoming conjunction, meteor shower and mission milestone playable as a scene in the simulation and embeddable on any website. Next in line: more spacecraft tracked from live NASA/JPL data, new tours and Academy courses, more languages, tools for teachers to build their own lessons, and a long list of ideas sent in by the people who use it. Every one of those takes time, servers and recordings.

Running it isn't free, though. Servers, bandwidth for the star catalogue and 3D models, satellite tile streaming, and narration recordings for every tour and lesson in every language add up each month. If Your Eyes In Space gave you a moment of wonder, or you use it with your students, a small contribution keeps it open for everyone who comes after you, and gets the next feature out sooner.
