Co-authored-by:,Signed-off-by:, or any Cursor/agent/IDE attribution to commit messages. Do not advertise the agent or tool in commits. To enforce this locally, run./scripts/install-git-hooks.shonce (installs a prepare-commit-msg hook that strips such lines). Always commit completed work: when you finish a change, feature, or fix that the user asked for, stage and commit the changes so they are not lost. Do not leave the user to ask "was this committed?" — commit as part of doing the needed. Use SSH for git remote: this repo usesid_rsa; keep origin asgit@github.com:satisfecho/pos.git(not HTTPS) so fetch/push work without prompting. -

Prefer removing or simplifying over adding: Removing overcomplicated code is better than adding new code. Think twice before adding; consider simplifying or deleting first. Prefer fewer, clearer paths over more features or branches.

MUST ALWAYS DO — Angular/front compiler check: When touching Angular/front code (or any change that can affect the frontend build), always check for compiler errors before concluding the change is done. With hot reload in DEV, the front container rebuilds on save; check
docker compose logs --tail=80 front(or the front container’s log output) for TypeScript/Angular build errors (e.g.TS2345,NG8002, “Decorators are not valid here”, “Application bundle generation failed”). Fix any errors shown there. Do not report that a frontend change is complete until the build succeeds (no errors in the logs). This rule applies every time you edit frontend code or dependencies. -
Never use
npm install; always usenpm ci --ignore-scripts, pin versions in package.json/package-lock.json, and avoid running scripts on install (supply chain risk). The front app hasfront/.npmrcwithsave-exact=trueandignore-scripts=trueso new deps are pinned and install scripts never run. -
NEVER use example.com for mail tests. Do not use
@example.com(or any example.com address) as a recipient or sender in code or tests that send or assert on email (reservation confirmations, registration, reminders, etc.). example.com does not receive mail (RFC 2606). Use a real inbox (e.g. ralf.roeber@amvara.de) or an env-configured address (TEST_EMAIL, etc.) with a real default. See.cursor/rules/no-example-com-email.mdc.
Full-stack Point of Sale (POS) system.

Prerequisites: Docker & Docker Compose, Python 3.12+ (venv recommended), Node.js 18+.
Quick start: Use run.sh to orchestrate the stack.

After every new feature, fix, or code change that can affect the running app (frontend, backend, config, Docker, env), smoke tests are required so regressions (503, broken routes, failed build, broken flows) are caught before the user hits them.
Before telling the user something is fixed: Run a relevant Puppeteer test (or other smoke test) first. Do not report "it's fixed" until the test has passed. For example: after fixing /api/docs, run BASE_URL=http://127.0.0.1:4202 node front/scripts/test-api-docs.mjs; after fixing the landing page, run npm run test:landing-version; after fixing a specific flow, run the matching Puppeteer script. (Puppeteer defaults to headless; set HEADLESS=0 to watch the browser.) Only then tell the user the fix is done.

Long-running repeat (optional): scripts/go-ahead-loop.sh pulls git (--rebase --autostash) and reruns Docker pytest plus npm run test:landing-version on an interval for hours (default ~8h). Requires GO_AHEAD_LOOP=1. For a detached run: scripts/start-go-ahead-loop-background.sh (see docs/testing.md).
Multi-agent task workflow (optional): Task pipeline and roles modeled on mac-stats-reviewer — see docs/agent-loop.md (target agents/tasks/, coder/tester/closing/committer handoffs). Orchestrator: ./agents/pos-agent-loop.sh (full cycle: 001 log reviewer first, then FEAT/coder/tester/closer/committer; requires cursor-agent on PATH; does not start Docker — use ./run.sh for the stack).

Compose files: Local dev = docker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.dev.yml. Production (amvara9) = docker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.prod.yml. Use the same -f list for ps, logs, exec, etc.
Deploy (amvara9) – migrations: scripts/deploy-amvara9.sh starts only db+redis, runs python -m app.migrate then python -m app.migrate --sync-idempotent (repair when schema_version was wrong), then starts all services. So the app never serves traffic before migrations. On the server, path is /development/pos.
SSH (amvara9): On the usual dev machine, ssh amvara9 works with key-based auth (host alias in SSH config). Use it for production diagnostics from this environment—e.g. ssh amvara9 'cd /development/pos && …' with docker compose --env-file config.env -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.prod.yml logs|exec|ps. CI, sandboxes, or other laptops may not have that alias; treat it as optional, not guaranteed everywhere.
When debugging the running app (e.g. frontend not loading a route, API issues):

Check if containers are up and which port the app is on
- From the repo root:

haproxyservice: it showsHOST_PORT->4202/tcp(e.g.0.0.0.0:4202->4202/tcp). The host port is the one to use in the browser (e.g.http://localhost:4202). With dev overlay the default is 4202; with prod overlay HAProxy publishes 80 and 443.

Frontend dev server: live reload in Docker
- The
frontcontainer runsng servewith--poll 2000so that file changes on the host (volume./front:/app) are detected and the app rebuilds immediately. You should never need to rebuild the image or restart the container for frontend code changes; if the UI doesn’t update, checkdocker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.dev.yml logs --tail=50 frontfor build errors. - If you still see stale frontend after editing: ensure the container was started with the current compose (no cached run), then hard-refresh the browser (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R).

Restarting the backend without losing data
- To restart only the backend:

docker compose down -vor./run.sh --cleanwhen you only mean to restart the backend. The-vflag removes named volumes (e.g.pos_pgdata), which wipes the database. Image files live in the host directoryback/uploads/(bind-mounted), so they are not deleted bydown -v, but all references to them (Product.image_filename, ProviderProduct.image_filename, Tenant.logo_filename, Tenant.header_background_filename) are in the DB. After a DB wipe, the app will show no images until data is re-seeded or re-imported.
Run these from the repo root or from front/ when the app is up (e.g. on port 4203 or 4202). Chrome must be installed (e.g. /Applications/Google Chrome.app on macOS). Scripts auto-detect the first responding port among 4203, 4202, 4200.
Provider portal (manual testing): .env can define PROVIDER_TEST_EMAIL=pos-provider@amvara.de and PROVIDER_TEST_PASSWORD=123456 for testing the provider dashboard at /provider (log in at /provider/login).

The demo restaurant (tenant id 1) should have T01–T10: T01–T05 with 4 seats, T06–T10 with 2 seats, on a single floor "Main". Deploy runs the seed automatically (scripts/deploy-amvara9.sh). If the database was reinitialized or tables were lost outside deploy, seed manually and run the check.

Demo products (tenant 1): Deploy also runs app.seeds.seed_demo_products, which seeds a default menu (main courses, beverages) for tenant 1. Idempotent; no images. To run manually: docker compose exec back python -m app.seeds.seed_demo_products.
Puppeteer test (demo data): Verifies tenant 1 has ≥10 tables and ≥10 products and /book/1 loads. Run with tenant 1 credentials: BASE_URL=http://satisfecho.de LOGIN_EMAIL=... LOGIN_PASSWORD=... node front/scripts/test-demo-data.mjs (or npm run test:demo-data from front/). Runs headless by default; use HEADLESS=0 to show the browser.
Puppeteer test (catalog + images): front/scripts/test-catalog.mjs logs in, opens /catalog, and reports total cards, how many have loaded images vs placeholders. Compare dev vs amvara9: BASE_URL=http://127.0.0.1:4202 LOGIN_EMAIL=... LOGIN_PASSWORD=... node front/scripts/test-catalog.mjs and same with BASE_URL=http://satisfecho.de. Catalog data (ProductCatalog, ProviderProduct, images) comes from wine/beer/pizza import seeds, not from deploy; amvara9 has no catalog unless those imports are run on the server.
Frontend (Angular): Prettier config in package.json (singleQuote: true, printWidth: 100). Uses @angular/ssr; dev is typically client-side (handled by run.sh). Standard Angular CLI structure.
Backend (FastAPI): SQLModel (Pydantic + SQLAlchemy). DB driver: psycopg[binary] (v3). from . import models in main.py so models are registered before DB creation. Environment via config.env.
Testing: Frontend: ng test (Karma/Jasmine). Backend: pytest. See docs/testing.md for Puppeteer tests.
