BW/ecoinvent’s biosphere does not differentiate regionalized water flows (natural resource and emissions to air), whereas SimaPro does. When exporting inventories to the SimaPro format, water flows are not regionalized. For example, instead of “Water, well, in ground, CN” for a unit process located in China, the exported flow is always “Water, unspecified natural origin.” Is there a reason for this?
I’ve worked a potential solution (robyistrate@ddd4a72), but I haven’t tested it extensively yet. Before proceeding further, I’d like to check whether I might be missing something about how the current export setup works.
