but we should be able to curate this:

It also has a shortcut around cystathionine entirely: two distinct O-acetylhomoserine sulfhydrylases (homocysteine synthases) that condense sulfide directly with O-acetylhomoserine. So a cbl1 deletion isn't necessarily a methionine auxotroph the way metC loss is in E. coli.
